   Summary

Ilya is the star center for the national men's ice hockey team of the USSR. But even as he's set to play the 1988 Olympics, he finds himself under the thumb of his family.

His troubles worsen as he stumbles upon a murder and bears witness to their supposed killer in the act. When his story is too fanatical to believe, suspicion falls on both him and his brother. Ilya is subsequently hunted by the police, associates of Alexei, and vampires.

His only ally is the killer who seemingly started it all.
