Chapter 1: Builderman ponders because he just met up with his friend again

Chapter Text

"Shed!! There you are! Where were you? I haven't seen you in like, a week!" Builder ran over to Shedletsky, giggling uncontrollably.

Shedletsky smiled and stumbled back as Builder leaped into his arms, "haha, yeah sorry about that! I was really busy.. uh.." he trailed off, his smile fading.

Builder looked up at him, confused. "Busy? Doing what?"

"..packing up. I'm moving." Shedletsky tried to smile, lighten up the mood, "But we'll meet again someday, right?"

Builder frowned, "why are you just now telling me this? You've had a week..?"

"Uh, i gotta go now.." Shedletsky backed away from Builder.

"Wait- what-" but Shedletsky was already running off, "B-bye!"

THIS IS SO ASS

Builderman eyed his dismantled room. Today was the day he moved out. Hed already packed everything up, so today he was just picking up the little things that he could carry outside of the moving van. He spotted something in the corner, it looked flat, a bit like paper. He picked it up.

...

A picture of him and Shedletsky. It'd been years since they'd seen each other, after Shedletsky moved, Builderman had made almost no friends-- besides Doombringer of course.

He stared at it for awhile before pocketing the photo. No point in thinking about it now, there's no way they'd ever meet up again. It'd been years, it was time to stop thinking about it.

He clicked the door open. He set the last box in his car and set off to his new town.

---------

Builderman arrived at his new house, clicking the door open to the bare floors. The moving van wouldn't be here for a few days, so he brought a sleeping bag with him. He unrolled it and placed it down on the floor before hearing a knock at the door.

He perked his head up. He was surprised anyone had seen him, he'd just gotten here. Nonetheless, he answered. The door creaked as he opened it, revealing a stubby man with a wide, welcoming smile.

"Hi there!" He greeted Builderman cheerfully, "I'm your neighbor, I happened to see you come in and i wanted to give you this." He held out his open hands, showing Builderman a little ceramic bunny which seemed to be hand-made considering the paint was slightly smudged and there were subtle fingerprints on it.

"...thanks." Builderman took the minifigure from the strangely familiar person's hands.

The other man kept talking, "My name's Shedletsky, i live right over there, holler if you need anything ok?"

Shedletsky... "Uh... Yeah..." Builderman fiddled with his collar, "I should probably go now, see ya soon..?"

He didn't wait for a reply before shutting the door. He pulled that photo out of his pocket, furrowing his brows. He should've known, he recognized that face the second he saw the man. How did it take this long for him to figure it out?

Builderman trudged over to his sleeping bag and slumped over. He knew it was dumb to be this... Emotional about it, you could say. He actually didn't know what he was feeling.

He slid the photo across the floor, knowing it would probably fall out and get lost if he kept it in his pocket.
