Chapter Text

∿Claire∿

Claire hated Montreal with her whole heart.
Why? Well, there were plenty reasons, but, on top of all, there was one: her dad and his stupid girlfriend LOVED Montreal.

"Why did you leave me with him? I wanted to spend Christmas with you and Kevin..." she was having an argument with her mother, again.

"Claire, I have to work, you know that! Kevin will arrive to Montreal to spend it with you..." the woman took a deep breath, she knew that Claire was right, but she had to be the adult: "And you will spend time with your cousins! Aren't you happy?" she said, knowing damm well that Claire hated all of her cousins except Shane.

"No, mum!" Claire stared at her own reflection in the mirror with a hint of disgust on her face: "And.. for the record, I won't have time! Dad is trying to make me like Sarah..." she fixed her hair for the tenth time.

Sarah was -and still is- her dad's girlfriend, the most annoying person Claire had ever met in her 16 years of life. The type of person you'd love to punch as soon as you see her face.

"Everything will be alright, Pixie" her mum's voice brought her back to Earth: "I have to go now. Remember: you can always call me... Love you".

"Bye mum" she hung up.

"Claire! Claire! We have to go" Sarah was calling her.

"Coming!" actually Claire wanted to punch her and scream at her face.

Going ice-skating with her future step-mother was her worst nightmare and, mind you, she LOVED ice-skating. After all, she was -and still is- a prodigy of figure ice-skating.

"So... aren't you excited? You are going to skate on the same ice of the Montreal Metros! It's a big deal, isn't it?" Sarah was obssessed with hockey and so did Oliver Hollander, Claire's dad: so Claire HATED it.

"Hockey is a way too violent primitive game" she said looking at the blonde woman with the fakest smile ever.

Sarah started laughing: "Claire! Oh, my god... It isn't that bad! And it is played on ice, just like figure skating!" she parked in front of the arena.

Claire grabbed her skates: "Hockey is a GAME, figure skating is an ART".

"Let's go, then!"

Sarah kept smiling, but Claire knew it was a forced one... and she couldn't help, but feel happy.
