Summary
It’s strange how a boy in 1983 can bounce back more easily from what was essentially an inter-dimensional kidnapping, and again in 1987 after the death of his super-powered sister. Yet here he is in 2009, continuously regressing and unable to recognize himself anymore. There are a lot of things Will doesn’t understand about himself, so how could anyone else possibly understand?

Twenty years after graduating Hawkins High School, the Party gears up for their High School Reunion. The only problem—the heart of the party is broken and Will Byers is still haunted by what survived him. Will still struggles under the weight of memories he has never fully shared, not even with Carlton Hayes, the love of his life. Meanwhile, Mike Wheeler has quietly withdrawn from the rest of the Party, unable to cope with the love he lost. As the reunion unfolds, it becomes clear that not everything is as settled—or as final—as they once believed.
This story focuses on Will and Mike's lives following the aftermath of defeating Vecna, destroying the Upside-Down, and the death of Eleven.
