Clover Fleece: Ace Attorney - Truth and Justice

Summary:

Seven years ago, the Barrier was broken.

Seven years ago, seven human children returned to life.

Then, monsters began to integrate into human society. And Clover heard of a man named Phoenix Wright - a protector of the innocent, and someone who always strove for justice.

Now, seven years later, Phoenix Wright has long since been disbarred, and though humans and monsters live together, not all is well. The monsters still remember the years of imprisonment - and the Fallen Humans being revived doesn't mean they don't bear the scars of their ordeal. Now more than ever, the world needs justice.

And so Clover steps forward - now a young attorney, inspired by Mr. Wright's exploits. And if justice is needed - then they'll bring it!

This fic is primarily a UTY fic, and written to be readable and enjoyable even for people unfamiliar with Ace Attorney. If you've never played AA - don't let that stop you from reading!

Notes:

It is strongly recommended to read this work with the work skin enabled!

I've done my best to ensure the work is still readable without it, but ultimately, it is written to be read with the work skin, which adds formatting in the style of an Ace Attorney transcript. If you choose to read without the work skin, your experience may be worse!

Chapter 1: CASE 1: Turnabout History - Prologue

Chapter Text

Darkness.
A figure, standing by a window, obscured from view. Only the faintest trickle of moonlight streams in, shining the slightest hint of light onto the scene.

???

S-so… that’s how it is.

Splash.
The bloodied head of a mace. A drop of blood falls, splatters onto the wood floor.

???

...It’s your fault, really.
Always trying to “know…”
Always trying to “understand…”
Always obsessed with “truth.”
Look where it got you.

Sometimes, buddy… things are as simple as they seem.
You just had to try and make it complicated…

Goodbye.
