this is it, this might be my magnum opus. i don’t even think i can tell you why this piece got so elaborate because i have no idea, reading the fic initially gave me a few visuals mentally and it sort of snowballed from there..i’m genuinely really fond of this piece and i hope it captures a similar atmosphere as the story gives off. please go read it!

it did make me realize how much i missed whimsical things, i loved fantasy and fairytales as a kid (the wild swans included) and to be inspired to draw it again is really fulfilling!!!

there’s all eleven swans in it, even if some are just a wing in frame. when i started drafts i told myself i wouldn’t need to draw all eleven. but here we are. i did my best to add a lot of details like the crown-like crests, stinging nettles, and a braid of flax blending into the swan wing. and my favourite of all is making the markings on swan thomas slightly resemble glasses :-)
