Jason packed the basket with precision.
Ivy had given Jason permission to bring Percy into her park.
Percy was getting a blanket, though he didn’t know where they were going,
Ivy only agreed as long as they got to do a sort of double date, her and Harley and him and Percy. Jason had asked Percy if he wanted to do that, and though he didn’t say where or with who, just asked if he wanted to go on a double date with Jason’s friends, he had agreed.
Percy walked out of their bedroom, now with a blanket.
‘Where are we going?’ Percy signed after catching Jason’s attention. Jason smirked, “You’ll see, and you’ll also like it,” he replied, putting the last thing in the basket before walking over to Percy, who sighed quietly as the two men left their apartment.
The drive to the park was quick, and when they got there, the gates opened for the pair before closing again.
Percy looked at him questioningly. Percy had told him about his past and his family, how they exiled him, and Jason wondered if he was able to feel the force of nature in the plants.
Jason just smiled, taking Percy’s hand and continued walking down the path to where Harley and Ivy were. The sound of laughter and a Brooklyn accent quickly filled the air.
“Jay!” Harley squealed as he and Percy got within distance of the two women. “Hey Harley, hey Ives,” Jason smiled as he set down the basket and blanket. Harley turned her attention towards Percy, “And you must be Percy! We’ve heard so many things about you! I’m Harley, and that’s my girlfriend, Ivy!” Harley said, introducing herself and Ivy. “Hi,” Percy said after a moment, clearly trying to find his voice. Jason had told him that both of them knew sign, and could always sign to them if he needed too. Harley smiled, going to sit back down with Ivy as Jason set up his and Percy’s blanket and getting out the food.
The double date picnic went well, Harley did a lot of the talking, Jason responding a lot as well, and both Ivy and Percy would occasionally jump in, Percy signing everything for the rest of the day.
It was getting well past dark before Percy and Jason went back home.
