Work Text:
Percy has had two partners in his life.
The first one was Annabeth. At first, he thought that they would be together for the rest of their life, but when the gods banished Percy away from both camps, Annabeth and Percy broke up. She couldn’t deal with being with the god-killer. The words hurt when they broke up. Percy had lost so much, and yet, he kept losing.
He thought Annabeth was his true love, but when the Gods turned on him, she did too.
Next was Jason. Percy was hesitant at first, having just been heart broken by Annabeth not even a year earlier, he didn’t want to be hurt again. But Jason was patient, he cared when Percy didn’t want to do something, would listen to Percy, sit with him in silence when needed, and never judged Percy when he didn’t speak for days on end.
Percy thinks he might love Jason more than Annabeth, and he doesn’t know how to feel about it.
But when he’s cooking with Jason, or just watching a movie, it sometimes feels like they were made for each other, more than he and Annabeth were.
