Work Text:
"Hey, Homura?"
"Yeah?"
"What would you do if I pulled a Madoka?"
Homura looks up from the snacks she was arranging and at Sayaka, currently sitting upside down on Homura's seater, pigtails only inches away from the floor. The words are said through a mouthful of Popcorn - how Sayaka manages not to choke is a mystery to Homura.
"What do you mean by that?" Homura asks, taking out a Pocky stick and chewing on it.
"You know, if I decided to become a concep and not exist anymore, and you were the only one who remembered me."
"I thought this was going to a Pretty Cure binge rewatch?"
"It is! That doesn't mean I can't ask a Madoka Magica related question!" Sayaka sits up, looking at Homura with pleading eyes. "Come, Mura, tell me! What would you do?"
Homura considers it for a few seconds, finishing up her Pocky stick as she does. Finally, she comes up with an answer and smiles, showing her braces. "Bold of you to assume you're getting rid of me that easily. Whatever weird dimension you'd live in, I'm coming with you."
"Aw!."
"That, or I'd find a way to keep in touch. Imagine getting to say, 'Well, my best friend is an Eldrich being and doesn't exist anymore. I'd get to brag about you."
"What, you can't brag about me as I am?"
Homura rolls her eyes, throwing a pillow at Sayaka. The other catches it and laughs, throwing it back at Homura.
"But seriously," says Homura. "I'd probably miss you a lot"
"Well, that's sweet of you to say, Homura-Chan," says Sayaka, picking up a kitkat. "I probably wouldn't actually do it anyways. I'd miss you and Mami and Papi and my sister's too much."
"Same, to be honest. Now come on, let's get this binge watch started!"

And at the very same time, in the Infinite Doll House, the Vessel of Love agrees to become the embodiment of death and light, knowing how much she'll miss her friends and family, and knowing how much she'll miss them, and how much her friends and sister will miss her.
