After finding out that they would have to get braces for the second time in their life, Hyun was distraught.
Despite being known for their commitment to self discipline, there were times where Hyun simply refused to wear their retainer, resulting in being sent to the orthodontist by their dentist to receive their second pair of braces.
“This is so fucking embarrassing…” Hyun complains through a whine, their tan hands covering their face as they pout.
Haru, Hyun’s partner who insisted on attending the appointment with them despite their embarrassment, rests their hand on Hyun’s bouncing thigh, slowly rubbing comforting circles with the pad of their thumb. “Just think of the braces as tooth gems.” Haru shrugs, not finding the situation to be that big of a deal but still wanting to comfort their partner. “Besides, no one will know it’s your second time wearing braces other than me, Muti and Rui.”
Haru’s words make Hyun feel the tiniest bit better until they are reminded of their family. They dramatically groan in despair as they run their hands down their face, “and my mom and dad!” Then they gasp in realization, “oh my god…and my sisters! My sisters are going to make so much fun of me!” They feel like crying; they settle for sulking in the chair instead.
Truthfully, Haru has no idea how to comfort Hyun in this situation. They don’t want to lie to Hyun by saying that their parents won’t care and their sisters aren’t going to laugh at them for getting braces again, because honestly? They probably will.
However, Haru has to think fast or Hyun is seriously going to lose their shit because of overthinking.
“Hey, look at me.” Haru’s tone is low and quiet as to not further upset Hyun who turns to look at Haru with teary eyes. Haru holds Hyun’s pouting face in their hands, stroking their cheek with the pad of their thumb as they did earlier with their thigh. “You getting braces again isn’t as embarrassing as you’re making it out to be. And if you really think about it, getting braces again shows that you care a lot about your dental health; not a lot of people get braces again.” Haru pauses then sinisterly smiles, “plus, you’re going to look so hot with braces.” Their tone shifts into a seductive whisper, careful of who may hear their next words. “I’m gonna make you moan so loud just so I can see them.”
Haru can feel the heat radiating from Hyun’s face because of their words. “I…I don’t think that’s how it works, but it turns me on either way.” Hyun honestly states, making the both of them laugh.
“Kim Jinhyung?!” The dental assistant calls from the door separating the waiting room from the orthodontic offices.
Haru is quick to grab ahold of Hyun just before they could stand from the chair. They quickly shut Hyun up before they could ask any questions with a kiss, secretly wondering if it would be harder or uncomfortable to kiss Hyun when they get their braces.
“I’ll be here when you come back.” They reassure the older.
Hyun sweetly smiles, “I’ll be looking forward to it.” They say before standing and following the assistant to their orthodontists’ office.
