Eighteen months is a long time to be in a coma, and it feels even longer when there's no end in sight.
In order to keep Max in the loop when she wakes up, the party writes letters for Max about what's been happening.
It's the least they could do for all the letters she wrote for them.
Max wrote letters because she knew she would die.
The party writes letters because they know she'll live.
