DPS Strike!

Summary:

Oh, go Ver-*bleep* yourself!

We've had some role shifts in our static, and with change comes harsh truths. Enjoy!

Work Text:

A scene of four DPS lying KO'd on a raid arena floor. Bottom of the panel reads "Meanwhile, in the Church of Zodiark and the Latter-Day Ancients Static raid night...". In the background a bright light is seen, and two Viera being lifted off the floor with the icons for Think Air and Raise over them. An arrow points to the fem Hrothgar and says "Last Tier's OT". Text reads: Bryn Balsynn: (yelling) Raising Kai! Zeena Onekiyull: Wait, you mean we just lie here and wait while the healers res the tanks first? But... our uptime!

The scene continues, fire and magic being flung around in the background. The SCH casts Energy Drain, Broil, and another Energy Drain while the WHM casts Benediction while the WAR uses Provoke and Inner Release. A giant saw blade spins into the frame. Text reads: Nima Shikhu: Pretty much, yeah. Zeena Onekiyull: Even if they get you murdered? Forwin Tyrell: Yeah. It happens to Nima a weird amount. It is what it is.

As the fight wages on, the SCH uses Dissipation while the WAR does Primal Rend then three Fell Cleaves. Meanwhile the WHM is using Swiftcast, then another Raise. Text Reads: Zeena Onekiyull: Wow. Unbelievable! Why do we live like this? They can't beat the boss without us! We should strike! No DPS without equal priority resses! Nima Shikhu: Well, I'm sure they're doing their best to get us up as fast as possible. But this IS my burst window... Forwin Tyrell: Yeah! We can take back our uptime! Let's do it! Let's strike!

The battle goes on. The SCH is now using Swiftcast, Broil, Energy Drain, Broil, Energy Drain. The WAR continues doing Fell Cleaves, while the WHM casts another Raise. In the shot, the Red Mage is being resurrected. Text reads: Bryn Balsynn: (yelling) Getting M'haminn! M'haminn Taron: A strike would be a significant DPS loss. I think the healers do a good job prioritizing their raises, and we should all just be patient. Everyone: Oh, go Ver-*bleep* yourself!

Notes:

Before anyone calls me out, no, this is not the M9S arena. I had to fake it a bit to pull off my idea, since we can't load unrestricted into current expansion raids. Just... squint real hard and pretend, for my sake?
