    Fresh off back-to-back national championships at UConn, Azzi Fudd is ready for the next stop in her basketball journey: the WNBA. Expansion team Portland Fire make a splash leading up to the draft, acquiring the rights to the No.1 overall pick and Arike Ogunbowale from the Dallas Wings. Azzi arrives in Portland with no roots in the city, missing her teammates in Storrs and her family. She decides to make her way to Powell's bookstore to procrastinate her unpacking, only to stumble into a media event featuring Portland Thorns' goalkeeper Paige Bueckers.

    With the Fire and the Thorns set to share a brand new facility, Azzi and Paige's paths keep crossing. It's clear to everyone that their chemistry is undeniable. What starts as a random encounter in a bookstore quickly becomes something impossible to ignore, as the two athletes rise to stardom in their sports and shared city while falling completely in love with one another.
