   Summary

   It was 1976. Josephine Byers was nine years old, and she began to feel... wrong. Her body, it didn't feel like hers. Everytime her mother referred her as her 'perfect little girl', the pit in her stomach deepened. Everytime she looked into the mirror, she didn't recognize the girl staring back at her. She didn't understand why she couldn't just be like everyone else.

   But, by the time she was twelve she had done her best to come to terms with her feelings. She had read newsletters. She had done her research.

   Josephine wasn't Josephine. She was Jonathan. And she was a he.
