Chapter Text
A large motorhome made its way up into a mountain area. In it carried two families. One was Silas and Maureen Brown with their kids, Charlie Brown, Sally, Wyatt, and Charlie’s girlfriend Frieda and Sally’s boyfriend Michael as well as Snoopy and Woodstock; the other was the owners of the motorhome, Silas’s brother Reed and his new girlfriend Nancy Todd, a beautiful black woman, and Reed’s daughter Heidi and her boyfriend Dex. They were headed for the Sweetstory Lodge, founded by the author of the Six Bunny Wunnies series of books, Helen Sweetstory. Trevor B.’s father and Silas and Reed’s brother Samuel and his wife Danielle, owned a huge timeshare suite that their entire family could fit in and took advantage of the Christmas break to use it for a family ski trip.
“Uncle Reed, how big is this suite Uncle Samuel and Aunt Danielle own?” asked Charlie Brown.
“Pretty big, Charlie,” Reed answered. “It’s like a mansion in a ski lodge.”
“I can’t wait to see it!” said an excited Heidi.
“So, Nancy, how did you and my little brother meet?” asked Silas.
“We were colleagues at work,” Nancy said. “We started out as friends doing things together. It eventually blossomed into romance. Your brother is a great man, Silas.”
“I can agree with that,” said Silas. Turning to Reed, he said, “You did good with this one, little brother.”
“Thanks, big bro,” said Reed. “On another note, we are coming up to the lodge.”
And soon enough, the group were at the lodge. After unloading everything, with Snoopy predictably taking a lot of things, Reed went to park the RV. The rest went inside where they met up with Samuel and Danielle, waiting for them.
“Over here, everyone!” said Samuel.
“Sam, how are you?” said Silas, greeting his brother.
“Danielle, this place is gorgeous!” said Maureen to Danielle.
“I know,” Danielle replied. “Wait until you see where we’re all staying! It has two hot tubs; one for us and one for the kids.”
“That is great!” said Sally.
“Is Trevor around?” asked Heidi.
“He’s upstairs in the suite, Heidi,” said Samuel. “He wants to lay low due to fans probably recognizing him.”
“I don’t blame him,” said Frieda.
“And how are you doing, Charlie?” asked Danielle. “We heard you and your band did a Christmas performance at a party recently.”
“We did, Aunt Danielle,” Charlie Brown replied. “You know Frieda, Sally, and Snoopy are part of that band.”
“Frieda’s our lead vocalist,” Sally added, “and I do backup vocals and Snoopy’s our all-around everydog.”
“That means he plays a lot of instruments with us,” said Frieda.
“Some of the rest of the gang is part of the group, too, like Lucy, Peppermint Patty, Schroeder who’s our band director, Marcie, Franklin, Dolores, and Matt, who used to go by Pig Pen,” Charlie Brown said. “Linus is actually our manager for the group. Trevor actually sat in with us before, if you remember.”
“That’s right!” said Danielle. “I remember him telling us about that!”
“Hey everyone!” All the folks turned around to see that Gordon and Martha Brown along with their kids Gary aka “Grease Trap” and Savannah, along with Gary’s girlfriend Melissa had arrived.
“Hey, ‘Grease Trap’, Savannah, Melissa!” greeted Heidi.
“Hey, fam!” said Gary. After exchanging hugs, all had made their way up to the suite, along with Reed, who came in after parking the RV. Dick and Gina Brown were already there, with their son Connor with his girlfriend Buffy, on the way. Connor, since the incident at the picnic after losing his flashy sportscar, worked and saved up to get a nice SUV, which would work in the snowy conditions they would be staying at. Waldo and Marie Brown, along with their son Dexter, were already there as well. Dexter had started experimenting on Spike, since he was there with Trevor and his family, to the skinny beagle’s chagrin. When everyone was in the room, they all greeted each other.
“How are you, Charlie?” said Gina, giving a kiss on her nephew’s cheek.
“I’m good, Aunt Gina,” said Charlie Brown. “Is Connor still, you know, Connor?”
“Don’t worry about him coming after you and the other younger kids, Charlie,” assured Gina. “After what happened last time at the picnic, he assured us he wouldn’t be picking on you guys this time. But I am worried about him.”
“What about?” asked Frieda.
“His new girlfriend Buffy,” Gina said with a sigh. “She’s a sweet girl, but you know Connor. He’s trying to impress her by doing some crazy stunts.”
“That’s sounds like him,” said Heidi, rolling her eyes. She obviously trusted Connor even less than everyone else. She had told Dex about him, and he assured her if he tried anything funny, he’d make him regret it, being a family member be damned.
“And there’s a mountain here at the lodge called Dead Man’s Slope,” said Dick, joining the conversation. “Connor heard about it, despite our forbidding him to go down that slope.”
“The people at the lodge even warned us it was closed to the public due to it being unstable,” Gina continued. “But I think Connor will still try to take on that slope, despite even the owners of the lodge forbidding ANYONE to do that!”
“Good grief!” said Charlie Brown. “Well, you won’t have to worry about any of us taking on that dangerous hill!”
“You know I’m not crazy enough to do that, either!” added Sally.
“Dex is a surfer and he has snowboarded before,” said Heidi.
“Yeah, but I’m not crazy to be taking on Dead Man’s Slope, myself!” added Dex.
“Well, as your parents, we are glad to hear that!” said Gordon.
“Beside that, there are plenty of hills for us to use that are safer,” said Trevor.
“I can’t wait to try out my new skis, baby,” said Frieda to Charlie Brown.
“Yeah, me too,” agreed Charlie Brown. “I know Snoopy has been looking forward to skiing himself. But I’ll have to make sure HE doesn’t try out Dead Man’s Slope, either.”
“Yeah, that dog of yours WOULD try that hill, knowing him,” said Sally.
“Maybe you won’t have to worry about Snoopy skiing at all, Charlie,” said Heidi. “Our cousin Dexter has already taken him for some more experiments.”
“Oh brother!” sighed Charlie Brown. “At least he’ll have his brother Spike with him to keep him company, along with Woodstock.”
At that moment, the doors to the suite opened to reveal Connor with a gorgeous blonde girl, who was obviously his girlfriend Buffy.
“Hello, family!” he announced. “For those of you who didn’t know, this is my girlfriend Buffy.”
“Hasn’t been here a minute and already his ego is at full blast!” griped Heidi to Charlie Brown.
“He did promise to leave us alone, though,” Charlie Brown reminded her.
“Yeah, but I’m taking that ‘promise’ with a grain of salt. He’ll have to prove himself before I let my guard down with him.”
“I understand that.”
“So, when do we hit the slopes, family?” asked Connor. “I want to show Buffy my tremendous skiing skills.”
“Oh, Connah!” giggled Buffy. “You sutcha stud!”
“Where did he find this girl?!” asked Sally.
“I don’t think I want to know, babe,” said Michael.
“Me neither,” agreed Savannah.
“Well, Connor, we’ll probably start skiing tomorrow,” said Samuel. “Right now, I think everyone wants to settle in.”
“Okay, that’s cool, Uncle Samuel,” said Connor. “In the meantime, what else is there to do at this joint?”
“Well, there is a hot tub for us to use,” said Charlie Brown.
“I did see a movie theater here when we came in, as well,” said Gary.
“Babe, what do you think?” asked Connor to Buffy.
“I’ve been dyin’ to try out my new bikini,” said Buffy. “We can do the hot tub, Connikins!”
“‘Connikins’?!” asked a bewildered Sally.
“Doesn’t Sally always call Michael her ‘Sweet Babboo’, though?” asked Dex to Heidi.
“To be fair, it comes from our grandmother,” Heidi said. “But yeah, ‘Connikins’ is a bit much.”
“I think we’re hitting the hot tub, Frieda,” said Charlie Brown.
“I’m game for it, sweetie,” said Frieda. And the kids got their stuff in their rooms and then dressed in their swimsuits to spend some time in the hot tub for them. The parents all relaxed at a bar in the suite and enjoyed some drinks and mingled with each other before bed.
