Chapter Text
Christmastime is here
Happiness and cheer
Fun for all that children call
Their favorite time of year
Snowflakes in the air
Carols everywhere
Olden times and ancient rhymes
Of love and dreams to share
Sleigh bells in the air
Beauty everywhere
Yuletide by the fireside
And joyful memories there
Christmastime is here
Families drawing near
Oh, that we could always see
Such spirit through the year
Charlie Brown was doing some Christmas shopping with Sally. He was buying something for Frieda, and she was buying something for Michael. Charlie Brown was also getting ready for his band the CB’s to perform at Violet’s upcoming Christmas party, in addition to a romantic carriage ride before Christmas with Frieda. He had a big Christmas surprise for his favorite girl.
Sally, meanwhile was looking for a new fancy shirt for her Sweet Babboo. She didn’t know what to get him, though, which was why she went with her brother so he could possibly give her some advice. As the two siblings were walking, they ran into a beaming Peppermint Patty.
“Hey, Chuck, hey, Sally,” she said, sighing after every word.
“Okay, even for her, she’s acting strange, big brother,” Sally whispered to Charlie Brown.
“Everything okay, Patty?” asked Charlie Brown, genuinely concerned.
“On the contrary, Chuck, I couldn’t be any better,” the tomboy gushed. “Roy and I are finally an item! It happened a few weeks ago during the party for Zac!”
“Really?!” said a happy Sally. “That’s great!”
“We’re happy for you, Patty,” agreed Charlie Brown.
“Thanks, you two!” said Patty. “We’re coming together to Violet’s Christmas party. Everyone will know about it then. Besides you two, Marcie, Yasmine, Polly, and Claudia already know.”
“Well, we’ll let you let everyone else know,” said Charlie Brown.
“In the meantime, what are you guys up to?” asked Patty.
“Christmas shopping for my Sweet Babboo Michael,” said Sally.
“And I’m doing the same for Frieda,” added Charlie Brown.
“Yeah, I’m also looking for something for Roy,” Patty replied. “Something he would like.”
“I do know he does like fishing,” Charlie Brown suggested. “I remember when we first met at camp when we were kids, we did quite a bit of fishing together.”
“Great idea, Chuck! I will get him some fishing gear!” And Patty went to the sporting goods store in the mall.
“I never thought she’d be this happy again after her and Franco split,” said Charlie Brown to Sally.
“I know,” agreed Sally. “I didn’t think I’d get over Linus until Michael came into my life. You probably felt the same after Heather moved away until Frieda admitted her feelings for you and gave you that Valentine.”
“That’s true, Sally. Speaking of, we should look for their gifts right now.” And Charlie Brown and Sally continued their shopping.
