Summary
Korvotron had never planned on replicating, but he's 360 years old now, and he isn't getting any younger. Of course, replicating means simply putting a piece of yourself out into the world, a little mini-me that you never have to meet again after naming. Korvo had not planned on becoming so attached to the little creature, this little near-clone of himself.
