Summary:

She thinks about MinuteTech. Forcing them to keep their alliance as a secret in order to follow their heart, to save everyone from the pending doom of the abyss. Work Text:

Jumper wasn't a good person.

Yes, she'll admit that. She'll admit that she's not a good person because it's the truth. But that doesn't mean she doesn't have good intentions.

Good intentions.

She wanted to save the server.

She really did. Even if it meant spending a long time with her so called “teammates” and helping them destroy the server by voiding the spawn.

But, she had her reasons.

It's the only way, after all.

It's the only way to save the server. To save its players. Even if it meant she'll be lying to herself. To convince herself of whatever thing she was doing to herself—whatever punishment she was facing by doing the very thing she was against doing, was… good. For the better.

It's always been like that.

To save everyone is to sacrifice yourself. It was as if she was selling her soul to the devil. The irony of doing something you stand against… is just too bittersweet.

She thinks about MinuteTech. Forcing them to keep their alliance as a secret in order to follow their heart, to save everyone from the pending doom of the abyss. She knows Minute is furious with her single mindedness of purpose. At the same time, he envied her for her dedication and passion when it comes to saving spawn. Minute lived in a world full of grays, but to her it was black and white, right and wrong. Jumper knows beyond question that she's going to die when the abyss finds out about her betrayal. She's not afraid of it. Well… maybe a little. Jumper just wished she had the time to talk to Minute one more time.

Maybe… to talk about their latest plans. Or maybe, chill and talk for hours while drinking coffee. Watch the sunrise from the top of the mountains admiring the view.

But here she was.

Standing closely to the very void that she promised herself that she won't let be consumed.

After all,

Everyone in the server had been consumed by the void.

One way or another.

Even if it wasn't physically, she felt as if the void had already consumed her both mentally and emotionally.

The days that she shared with the abyss had drained everything from her. Her energy, her hardworking mindset, well—everything.

But there was one thing they gave her back.

Hope.

Ever since they announced the puzzles. A way to save the spawn, a way to finally win—a way to finally breathe. A way where she can finally breathe freely and not feel the overwhelming guilt of her dearest friend’s blood on her hands.

She was ready.

She was ready to die.

Her life was a small price to pay when it came to her jumping off of the void.

“ Will the members of the abyss — ” Minute's voice spoke, the rest of his sentence was blocked in Jumper's mind.

She looked down on the void. Expecting to see her reflection. As if it was just a puddle of water that she looked down upon. As if it was something that simple. The void cooed, staring back at her like it was mocking her.

Mocking her for her victory.

Jumper felt her fists tighten. Surely she was just imagining it. Surely she was.

Jumper finally brought her attention to her fellow former sort of teammates. Everyone was happy for the foundation's win.

After all,

They reached their goal.

They managed to make the server active again.

That was one thing she liked about them.

They gave her hope when she least expected it.

And that was a win in her book.

Once the signal was on, everyone in the abyss jumped except for Jumper. How ironic.

She heard the cooes and chuckles her fellow players let out, she looked up, her eyes meeting Minute's. It shined. Even if it didn't have any pupils, it was the most beautiful thing that Jumper had seen.

She smiled warmly, she felt content.

She felt like she completed something.

No— she achieved her goal.

And no matter what had happened after that, she knew she would be ready. After all, she survived the void. The only survivor there is.
