Summary
James had spent fourth through sixth year very loudly pining after Lily Evans. Maybe she had gone a little too far in her coverup, figuring the louder she was, the less anyone would doubt her. No one would notice her glances in another direction, her eyes trailing the quidditch pitch for a particular seeker, her failed attempts at getting the girl she was truly pining for alone for just one conversation. It was easier to hide her little crush when she knew nothing about her besides her looks and relation to her best friend. After witnessing the most heart wrenching and heroic act James had ever seen a person commit, she knew she was done for. No more hoping she could manifest an actual interest in Lily by speaking her phony feelings aloud.
