Chapter Text
"Okay guys I'm be right back don't do anything stupid okay" John says as he's walking away, both Dennis and Trinity say okay at the same time.
"Hey let's see what John has in his backpack" Trinity says with a smirk meanwhile Dennis has a concerned expression showing that he isn't so sure he wants to be apart of it Trinity seeing this holds him to relax and that they won't get in trouble.
So he listens to her and rummage through shen's backpack Trinity opens one of the pockets of the backpack makes a sound between a laugh and a grasp.
Dennis wanting to knows what she saw tries to move the backpack to where he could see the pocket but Trinity stops him saying that he's too innocent to know what she saw.
Dennis gets a little mad at this and say's that he's old enough to know but Trinity doesn't allow him to see that they start to play tug of war with the poor backpack.
Trinity loses her grip on the backpack making Dennis strumble back and drops the backpack making all the contents inside from the open pockets fall out including the pocket that Trinity was making such a big fuss over.
Seeing what Trinity had seen, Dennis looks up at Trinity with wide eyes and ajar jaw slightly open.
"What the fuck" is all Dennis could get out before him and Trinity burst out laughing.
"We better hurry up and get all of this back into the bag before he comes back" Trinity says crouching down already picking up random stuff.
"This is all your fault Trinity" "No it's yours, why are you blaming me?" "Well you're the one who let go of the bag" Dennis says annoyed.
Trinity huffs out a laugh as foot steps approach, stopping right in front of them.
Yolanda stopping right in front of them analysing the scene in front of her raises her eyebrow out of curiosity and judgement.
Dennis fumbles with one of the items feeling Embarrassed, and judged by Yolanda stare.
“H-hey!” Dennis stumbles, his voice cracking under her stare.
“Hey,” replies, curiosity clear in her tone.
A moment of silence passes before Trinity breaks it. “Would you mind helping us, please?”
“Sure,” Yolanda says, crouching down to help gather the scattered items.
The silence between them is awkward but not uncomfortable. Yolanda picks up a few things, her eyebrow lifting just slightly higher with every item she recognizes.
Dennis avoids eye contact entirely, shoving things back into the bag as fast as he can. “This is… so embarrassing,” he mutters.
Trinity bites back a laugh. “You’re being dramatic.”
“I am not,” Dennis says. “She’s judging me.”
Yolanda snorts quietly at that, a small smile slipping through before she schools her expression again. “I’m not judging,” she says. “I’m just… confused.”
“That makes one of us,” Dennis replies.
They finish packing the bag just as footsteps echo down the hall again. John reappears, glancing between the three of them and then at his backpack.
“Why does it feel like I missed something?” he asks.
“Nothing,” Dennis and Trinity say at the same time.
Yolanda straightens. “Your friends were very… curious.”
John sighs, rubbing his face. “I should’ve known.” He grabs the bag. “I leave you alone for five minutes.”
Dennis groans. “Please never bring this up again.”
“No promises,” Trinity says, grinning.
Yolanda chuckles softly, then checks her watch. “I should go. Good luck with… whatever that was.”
“Yeah,” Trinity says, still smiling. “You too.”
As Yolanda walks away, Trinity watches her a second longer than necessary.
—
Later, the restroom is quiet except for running water. Trinity rinses her hands, staring at her reflection, when Yolanda steps in beside her.
They share a brief glance in the mirror.
“Okay,” Yolanda says, breaking the silence, “I have to ask.”
Trinity tenses slightly. “Ask what?”
“Why were you picking up condom packets and random stuff off the floor?”
Trinity lets out a short laugh. “We were messing around with a friend’s bag and it dropped—”
A sharp knock echoes against the restroom door, making both of them jump.
“Hello?” someone calls from the other side.
Trinity groans under her breath. “Of course.”
Yolanda smiles, amused now instead of curious. “You seem like trouble.”
Trinity meets her eyes in the mirror, smirking. “Only a little.”
The knocking stops, and the silence returns.
Yolanda dries her hands, then hesitates. “Well… I guess I’ll see you around.”
“Yeah,” Trinity says quickly. “I hope so.”
Yolanda pauses at the door, glancing back once more before leaving.
Trinity exhales, staring at her reflection again, her grin slowly fading into something softer.
