“Eddie.”
“Huh?” Steve looked up, snapping out of his relief-induced haze, and looked at Munson, who had just blurted that out and dropped his disposable towel on the floor when he met Steve’s eyes.
“I am. Eddie, I mean. I’m Eddie. You only got my last name earlier,” Munson explained with a goofy, adorable grin as he reached down to pick up the towel – Steve raised one amused eyebrow at the blush spreading over the neurosurgeon’s cheeks.
“I’m Billy. First year cardiothoracic surgery attending,” Hargrove butted in, smirking when Eddie snapped his head back and glared daggers at him.
“He didn’t you ask you anything,” Eddie furrowed his eyebrows at the blond.
“I don’t remember him asking you anything, either,” Billy raised one eyebrow at the neurosurgeon, who looked one second (or maybe less) away from throwing Billy across the room.After a series of events, Steve moves back to his hometown, hoping to leave the past behind.
He never thought he would feel safe again – with someone else, or even with himself. But Eddie Munson and Billy Hargrove are two idiots who make Steve feel things he had never felt before.
At the end of the day, Chicago had always been his safe place.
