Let Them Eat Cake (Let Them Eat Pie)

Summary:

There was one slice left, and of course, Lyza forgot it was supposed to be Keigo's.

Prompt fill for a school project. Check out the information in the notes.

Notes:

So here we are, prompt number two of one hundred. 14 of the prompts included in this series, are being used as pieces for my project and portfolio course this month. All of the prompts are being written twice, once for fandom, and once with an original character/plot line.

That said, there is one more note that needs to be made. All of the prompt fills will include the same FMC, and is part of a series of novel length works currently titled Doorways. Each fic is a standalone work and does not have to be read with any of the others posted to this account, but all of them are connected by one constant. Each one starts by opening a magic door.

Work Text:

First thing to do--- Not panic.

He wasn’t going to be angry, not over something so small. It wasn’t like they couldn’t get more. It was as easy as a trip down to the store, or picking up some ingredients to make it. She eyed the plate with damning evidence, crumbs from the crust of the delicious piece of pie she’d eaten with Denki…

“I forgot that was Kei’s slice…” she muttered.

Denki’s eyes grew wide, “You ate Kei’s pie?”

Yup, she had done it. She had eaten Keigo’s pie. She nodded.

“Ooooo, you’re gonna be in trouble.”

Lyza narrowed her eyes at the teen, “Just because we’re both high right now, doesn’t mean I won’t thump you upside the head, ya little jerk.”

“I’m tellin’ on you!”

She snorted a laugh, “Are you serious right now?”

“He’s not going to eat you over a piece of pie, Lyz. Stop freaking out.”

She grumbled, “You don’t know that.”

The door to the balcony opened and slid shut, and Lyza stepped to stand in front of the plate so that Keigo couldn’t see it as he walked from the door to the kitchen.

“Whatcha got there behind ya, songbird?” He raised his brow, “Is that what I think that is…?”

Lyza bit her lip, before she answered… “It’s the plate that used to have your pie on it…”

“You ate my pie---” he pouted out a lip.

“I’m sorry, baby… I got high… I was hungry, it sounded good.”

“I know,” he laughed, reaching over to gently lift the red feather hanging around her neck.

She blushed bright red, “Oh--- I forgot about that. Kinda like I forgot that was your slice of pie until I already ate it…”

“Goofball,” he shook his head. “Eat what you want. I can always get more pie.”
