You're Late (WIP)

Summary:

Haru is a university student who thinks he’s just living a normal life—until a chance collision on a rainy morning changes everything.
The man he bumps into isn’t just strikingly beautiful; he’s mysterious, composed, and impossibly alluring. And then… a card falls from his pocket.

“KYO — Rental Companion. Boyfriend, Friend, Dates.”

Curiosity turns into obsession. Haru can’t stop thinking about him, even as he tries to push the thought away. But when he finally dares to look deeper, he discovers a world he never expected—one where feelings, intentions, and reality blur.

Kyo is distant, guarded, and seemingly untouchable. But there’s more beneath his composed exterior than anyone realizes… especially Haru.

Between rented encounters, stolen glances, and the weight of unspoken emotions, both of them must confront what it means to care, to desire, and to risk breaking their own hearts.

In a city where rain blurs the streets and secrets hide in plain sight, two hearts collide, and the line between curiosity and love becomes dangerously thin.

Chapter 1: Collision

Haru heard the screeching of his alarm

“Shut upp”

He rolled over and checked his clock to see it was 9:12….9:12?!

“Shit”

He jumped out of bed and rushed to get ready, he had to be at class in 15 minutes and it took around 10 minutes to walk there from his apartment.

“Ok, i should be able to make it if i run”

Haru scrambled out the door, locking it then being paranoid and making sure it's locked again.

It was 9:20 Haru almost made it then

撞。

“Oh shi—くそっ—!”

Haru’s backpack fell to the ground and papers scattered everywhere.

Haru quickly dropped to his knees and started grabbing everything then he heard

「ごめん。大丈夫か。」
(Sorry. Are you ok?)

He looked up to see the most majestic man ever, slightly older than him with the most beautiful shade of brown eyes and hair that shimmered slightly blue in the sun.

“Oh uhm, yeah i'm ok”

“Be careful next time”

Before Haru could respond the man got up quickly and was gone but as he walked away something fell from his pocket, a card.

“Hey your ca-”

but he was already gone.

Haru picked up the card out of pure curiosity and it read

KYO

Rental Companion
Boyfriend • Friend • Dates

He slipped the card in his pocket then his phone vibrated

友人: 今日、講義に来るのか？
(Are you coming to lecture today?)

Haru gasped totally forgetting about class

Haru: 今向かっている。遅れるかもしれない。
(I’m on my way. I may be late.)

Haru slipped his phone back into his pocket and slowly walked across the intersection feeling some sort of empty feeling left over from the interaction.
