The year is 1958, and the underwater city of Rapture hovers on the brink of civil unrest. On one side in Andrew Ryan, the founder of Rapture, one who believes that the modern world is created by great men who strive to make their own way. On the other is Frank Fontaine: smuggler, black market operative, and one of the most powerful –– and dangerous –– men in the city. Theirs is clash of ideology and morality that will end in blood.
When Elizabeth arrives in the city on an errand of retribution, she is swept up in Rapture's genetic arm's race, a war of supermen and splicers.
