Telefragger? I barely know her!

Summary:

Telefragger won't leave you alone 2: electric boogaloo.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, the thrilling sequel to Telefragger? Telefrag-off.

Notes:

Boy I sure hope ao3 doesn't canon the Nullscape tag anytime soon, so people can't find this shit easier.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Lungs burning inside your chest, by this point, you had just about had enough. And shockingly, it wasn't the endless cycles of death that was reaching its breaking point.

It kept happening. Whenever there was a Telefragger around, it would keep appearing near you, over and over, without end. Even when there was a whole bunch of other people running around still. A few times it would appear in front of other people at the start of the purgatory (because lets be real, no one is selecting this fucker as an enemy), but the moment it seemed to realise you were out and about today it would near instantly snap in your direction.

This had become your business as usual, even if you didn't want it to be. You've had enough.

Perhaps it was a fit of brazen rage that you decided to stand your ground- kind of; rather than turning and running off in another direction, it was time for you to face the Telefragger, stepping backwards just quick enough to stay out of arms reach.

"What do you want?" You snap at it. The question might be a redundant one; you've never heard this thing speak before- hell, you're not sure it even has a mouth to speak with.

As expected really, it doesn't make a sound, other than the noise it emits when moving. You're still not even one hundred percent sure that the sound is its equivalent of footsteps, but you are leaning towards that being the case.

"Why don't you harass someone else? They're not expecting you anymore, you could get some cheap kills. Isn't that you're whole thing? Cheap kills?" Not that you are praying on your teammates downfall or anything, you are just tired of being the one and only person who has to deal with this thing.

Still no response.

It tries to teleport but, unsurprisingly, it appears in exactly the same place it just was: right in front of you.

"Why don't- urgh, do you even understand a word I'm saying?" You groan out, becoming more and more defeated with every passing attempt. It is an uphill battle to resist the urge to just bury your face in your palms.

Trying to negotiate and reason with this thing was pointless. You have no reason to believe it even understands human languages anyway, so what point is there in continuing.

You stop moving backwards the moment your heels begin to sink down further than your toes. A quick look over your shoulder; there is no more ground behind you.

Easy fix, just spin around the moment you think the Telefragger is going to teleport again. Simple. There should be enough distance between the two of you that it won't reach you before its next teleport attempt.

The audio cue begins to sound, and you immediately do a heel turn to face the opposite direction.

A second later, and you are still facing out into the empty nullscape.

Huh. Maybe it did leave after all?

Wait… Telestabber???

You turn back around as quickly as you can, but it is too late for you to react any further.

Vision obscured by that disappointingly familiar dark grey, there's no way for you to escape now, but that doesn't stop you from trying to pry yourself free. Ensnared by its arms wrapped securely around your body, its firm remains is spite of all your squirming efforts. There's something on top of your head too, rested carefully, but you can't see what it is, what with you being pressed so close to its body. It might be its own head.

Verbal protests come out as nothing more than muffled and illegible nonsense; with a deep and annoyed sigh, you just give up.

'It sure is taking its sweet time killing me.' You think to yourself, still waiting for the inevitable darkness that usually follows diving into Telefragger's loving arms. On second thought, its taking its sweet time teleporting again too. Two deviations in Telefragger's normal behaviour. That isn't troubling in the slightest.

But all you can do now is wait, for death or some other means to an end of this nightmare.

Notes:

I like to think if you ever got multiple Telefraggers it would go something like:
