Work Text:
"Why do you hate me?"
the you in the mirror asked.
i was rather surprised.
"i don't hate you,"
i said because i didn't.
"You hate yourself,
but I am you.
So if you hate you,
you hate me too."
the right-handed you came closer to me
and pressed your chest against the glass that separated us
a true mirror always has a gap between reality and the reflection
but i wanted to believe there was no gap
there was no glass or skin or flesh or bones between us
just the left-hearted me, and the right-hearted you,
beating as one.
"i don't hate you,"
i repeated
"i love you."
the you in the mirror said,
"Then you love yourself too,
Because I am you, and you are me."
so i took your words to heart.
because it was so easy to love
you,
the right-handed,
right-hearted,
'me'.
