Work Text:

He wasn’t really sure what had happened, or rather hadn’t happened.  His plans were still intact, possibly… maybe.  Everything seemed to be going the way he’d planned and Stiles had flexed for the greater good, twisted his morals slightly.

It should have been enough, should have given him a crack that he could have slid through, but it hadn’t been.  It seemed as though Stiles had flexed over this one thing and then everything had fallen back into place.

The crack he’d tried to force into the wall that Stiles wrapped around himself had involved a child and that might have been the miscalculation on his part.  But t had seemed the easiest route to go, at the time, after all a child will always tug at heart strings.

Well, that’s if you had any, his had gone missing years ago.  That’s if he’d been born with them in the first place.

Stiles, though, did seem to have a soft sport for those younger or weaker than him.  Those that needed protection.  It should have been an easy lever, but the wall was stronger than ever now.

If he didn’t know better, he’d say there had been magic at play, but he did know better.  It’s not as if any of that group of kids was anything special, in either the human or supernatural sense, outliers like the Martin girl aside.

So why no cracks? Why that diamond hard wall?  It just didn’t make sense.
