Autumn has fallen. Red, orange and yellow adorn the streets of Johto, while a cold breeze makes them dance in the air.
By every step you can hear the cracks of the dried leaves spoiling your presence, but that isn't that much of an inconvenience for Gold, who's running around, searching for something, or someone.
He mutters in his mind, knowing that it might not be an easy job to find him since his appearance will blend into the ambience of the environment, but he couldn't care less about it, because he is highlighted around anywhere for him.
He was there. The one he ran all this way for.
His silhouette recognizable for him as always, his long and sometimes messy hair, his usual dark clothing and blue jeans, while his hands were tucked inside his pockets.
"There you are!" The noisier one exclaimed, as he walked towards him, looking with that common frown in his eyebrows as his eyes inspected him from head to toe "Why are you dressed like that?"
"I'm always dressed like this." He answered in confusion.
"I know that dumbass. But I thought I made myself clear that this was going to be a date..." He grumbled the last part, as he took off his scarf, and put it over Silver's shoulders. "You make it look like a casual hang out by how unaware you are."
Silver just looked at him, still unused by Gold's attempt of being more affectionate with him, making an amusing scene in how his face slightly blushed while clarifying it. He answered with a low sorry to his partner, almost inaudible.
Before Silver could look even more at Gold's noticeable blush, he ruffled his hair aggressively "You have leaves all tangled up in here, I almost don't notice them by how red your hair is."
"Ugh... You're being too clingy today." The red hair mumbled with his head lowered. He liked the attention gold was giving him but, sometimes it felt like an endless barrier from gold to not give him enough space to be affectionate too.
Gold just looked at him, releasing his hands from the red locks towards his shoulders. There was a moment of silence where their eyes locked into each other. Gold opened his mouth to speak "That's because you're... Something." He whispered.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Forget about it! Let's go before the weather ruins." He quickly grabbed silver's hand and started walking, silver following his step.
This was... An awkward way to begin a date to say the least. And even if they didn't have a 'real' example of how a date is supposed to be, they surely knew that this was just something that shouldn't happen.
Not like either of them hated it though, they really couldn't say that much of that since they barely had any date like this since they started dating, most of the times they hang out was more likely in a friendly way with other people, or them inside the four walls of gold's house, watching the TV in silence barely maintaining contact though their shoulders or hands. Getting out of that routine most to not say every time is thanks to gold, who doesn't admit it but really wants to take more steps than he should, making tons of transversed plans in his mind to give that novelty he yearns for his relationship, everything he has dreamed to have with Silver ever since he realized his feelings with the guy.
But silver wasn't exactly the best type to get into that trail so easily, someone who barely distinguished what made his feelings for gold different from what he felt for anyone else. A single action that meant the world to gold, was just one of the tons of questions silver had in his mind.
The creaking sounds of the leaves as the voices of people chatting in the surroundings was the only music they listened to in their walk. It wasn't uncomfortable but neither comfortable, it was just weird.
Weird.
That has always been the word that surrounded every new experience they went through. Hugging was weird, holding was weird, kissing was weird, every ‘I love you’ was weird. But it wasn't like they disliked this type of weird, more likely, the strange sensation of something new was the weird itself, or were they the weird in the space here? They might never know, but that weird alongside the sweat in their holding palms was sticking them together to that weird they feared.
“Hey Silver…” The reckless guy finally spoke up, swinging their hands in the same motion as their legs were walking. “I'm hungry.”
Silver surely expected something more than just an ‘I'm hungry’, but he just nodded, knowing that even if he expected something from gold, the thing that was going to happen was the most far from his thoughts.
