No Room For Two

Summary:

Something in her mind that she no longer remembers is insisting she hold out a little longer. There's a woman here saying otherwise and she's saying it so softly that maybe letting go wouldn't be so bad.

--------
Tsumiki's sense of self is rapidly deteriorating and she's barely aware of what's happening. Yorozu is here to help (manipulate) her into letting go entirely.

Work Text:

Awareness was not something she was familiar with lately. She thinks at one point that wasn’t always the case. The thought slipped through her scattered mind like sand. There was something firm underneath her. She cracked open her eyes to see soft filtered light hitting the grass beside her. Turning her head upwards towards that sparce light source. The streams of shadows above her were from a lonesome tree. All she could do was stare up at the tree sheltering her. Having spent the little energy she had to sate her curiosity.

There was no way to tell how long she laid there. The only other thought that came to her was that her clothes felt different. Was she wearing less? Maybe. She couldn’t recall what else she might have worn besides the light robe she was draped in. A large shadow fell over her blocking out the light. The figure crouched down and her mind connected that the shadow itself was a woman clad in only an open robe with no hint of shame that it was the only thing keeping her from complete nudity. The woman’s straight, long, dark hair briefly brush against her exposed throat and shoulder as the woman reached forward to tug where the robe had fallen off the other's shoulder back into place. There was nothing she could do besides stare up at the new presence. Two smaller bits of that dark hair cut shorter than the rest to frame a youthful face. An easy, natural upturn at the corner of the woman’s lips.

“Who..?” the beautiful woman’s eyes gained a sparkle to them as they snapped to hers at her weak question. No more energy left for another sound to push past her lips. Dark hair spooled over her as the woman leaned closer. Searching for something. There was something touching her chest, up her throat. “You can still talk.” The tips of someone’s fingers. The beautiful woman whose eyes seemed to smile too. “Oh, Tsumiki. I wish I could study you more.”

That name… It sounded vaguely familiar. Was that hers? She wasn’t sure. The mysterious woman’s finger tips smoothed out the little furrow that had crept into her brow. “It’s hard to recall, I know.” There was a sense of comfort that came with the familiarity. Like this woman had expected her to forget. Maybe she knew what her mind couldn’t hold onto. Attempting to think any further just made her limbs feel heavier, her mind slower. She couldn’t hold any of her thoughts as they slipped through her hands. But… There was… something that brushed at the edge of her thread bare awareness. Each time it felt like it was forming it would vanish to the edges once more.

What was it…?

Fingers grazed over her cheek before cupping it and tilting it to the side. The woman with the dazzling eyes was laying down next to her. She didn’t recall her moving. It didn’t even strike her as unusual.

“So much effort just to hurt yourself,” the words were as soft as the fingers tracing along her cheek, her jawline, and faintly over her lips. The haze growing just a bit heavier the longer she stared into the others brilliant gaze. The woman reached for her, bringing her closer to the comforting heat of another body pressed against hers. “It’s okay to let go.” The beautiful woman tucked her into the crook of her neck. One hand settling on the small of her back, the other caressing her face and her thumb slowly stroking her cheek.

“Shhh,” the silk-like voice caressing her, coaxing her to close her eyes, “Just leave it all to me.” Her eye lids felt the weight of the woman’s words. The steady brush of pressure against her cheek. She had no reason to keep fighting when there was safety right in front of her. She was safe here. Closing her eyes narrowed her focus to only the sensation of being touched. The beautiful woman. All she had to do was let go. There was nothing to be afraid of. Nothing at all.

Notes:

I cannot wait until we finally get to the reveal in the anime. Perhaps then others will see the toxic yuri potential. Like Yorozu consciously decided to not change her physical appearance from Tsumiki's. That means something to me.
