Summary
Papers, wood and a subtle sweetness. Power and kindness. A hearth, his mind gives and he wills the thought away.
"Do you want this?" Nazrik asks, quiet. His thumb rubs circles on knuckles, another hand solidly set on the Mage's hips but light enough to not cage. He feels Emmerich's gaze change to a burning want, his breaths slowing but deep still.
The Mage is slow, hesitant almost, as he pushes his hips into a single agonizing grind and Nazrik's breath hitches, his body tensing as electric shocks of pleasure zip straight to his head and that strength again returns, where not even Nazrik's hold can stop him. "Would you indulge me if I said yes?"
Nazrik comes to the Herdmaster's sleeping hut for answers, running on ragged frustration and anger over the False One, over the God that has caused him grief for so long. He gets a little more than what he came for.

I'd really go so far as to say this is my fave Nazrik x Merlin fic so far. God it could even come across as a character study for them both. Love this so much, will probably be coming back to read this again when I have the time 🫶
