Chapter Text
You've known Sukuna for the better part of your existence, the both of you powerful cursed spirits that have thrived through every era. When you first met, your fighting spirit had intrigued the king of curses, leading him to letting you ‘stick around’ as he likes to call it.
Sukuna is always very adamant about how human feelings are futile, while you like to mingle with the withering souls of mortals. He doesn't try to hide his distaste for your choice of doing so, though he treats you no differently, allowing you to stay in his expansive castle.
You’ve grown used to each other's constant presence, always able to tell the others mood just by mannerisms alone. And now, you could tell Sukuna was annoyed, stewing in his emotions on your bed as you got ready for your date with another man.
“I don't understand, what could a human man have to offer?” He gritted out, staring at your reflection in the mirror as you dolled yourself up. You could only chuckle at his naivety, turning to face him, twirling a strand of your hair between your fingers.
“Not much, but they're good entertainment for a night.” Your answer seemed to only frustrate him, his strong jaw clenching as his eyes trailed the way your wrist moved, the way you carded your fingers through your hair,
“That's all you want? A quick thrill?” He frowned, lifting himself off of your bed and stepping closer to where you sat at your vanity. You raised an eyebrow at his words, wondering why he cared what you did in the long run.
“It's one night, what's so wrong with having a little bit of fun?” You asked him as he sat down beside your chair, which surprised you, he always placed himself above others. Figuratively and literally.
“It’s not one night, it's every other night.” He retorted, fists clenching at his sides as if he was resisting shaking some sense into you. He was right, your midnight rendezvous were never spaced out, though every night, you found yourself bored if you weren't out.
You glanced at him, sighing and setting your brushes down, taking certain pieces of jewelry and holding them against your body to see if they would look good with the outfit you had planned out. Content, you clasped the necklace Sukuna had given you ages ago securely around your neck. His monstrous gaze traced the chain, recognition flashing in his eyes.
“You have got to be mocking me at this point.” He scoffed, “No way you’re this dense.” His voice dropped an octave lower, proving his annoyance with your decision to go out with another man while wearing the gifts he had carefully picked out for you, just to see your reaction.
You only glared at him for his words, your hand falling to his chin to make him look up at you. His breath caught in his throat, caught off guard by your audacity. How dare you touch the king of curses in such a way... Though, he wasn't exactly making a move to end you, like he would have anyone else.
He stared up at you, red eyes drilling holes into yours, daring you to defy him further. Holding his head in place, you reluctantly let go of his chin, turning back to your mirror. He observed you a moment longer, slowly shifting to rest his head on your thigh, almost like a begging dog.
“Please... don't go on that date.” He whispered, tone making your body tense. What the hell happened to the king of curses? You looked down to him, lips drawn back in a sneer, about to bite out a remark. That was until you saw what he was doing. He buried his head in the side of your thigh, large hand holding your leg in place.
“Sukuna..-” You tried to shake him off, but he wasn't having it. Using one set of his arms, he turned your chair so your body was facing him, the other set of hands moving to grip your hips to keep you seated. He opened his mouth to plead again, but you cut him off,
“I’m not going to flake just because you asked me at the last minute.” You huffed, glaring down at him. Anyone else with your attitude would've had their head on a pike. His expression slowly morphed back to stone, his eyes blinking slowly as if he debated on what to do with you.
“You seem to forget your place.” He growled, his patience with you wearing thin. Slowly, and with an immense amount of self-restraint, he let go of your body, rising to his true height. His form towered over you, menacing if you didn't know he couldn't bring himself to hurt you. agitated, he took a heavy step towards your bedroom door, shoulders tensed as he called back to you.
“Have fun with your little… date.” He spat the word date as if it were a curse against his own name, massive hand finding the doorknob and twisting it with more force than necessary as he slipped out of your bedroom. You were left alone with your thoughts as you finished getting ready for your date.
