Summary
In 1728, Woodes Rogers returns as governor of the Bahamas. Every protection Madi was left with has crumbled. Even the island her war was surrendered to save is no longer beyond the grasping reach of the British Empire.
Twelve years prior, Madi wakes up on a beach, remembering a future where she tried and failed.
The half-starved pirates being dragged into her camp don't know her yet. Her father is still alive in Nassau, but days away and hours from the injury that will kill him.
