      Yes, well, me too! And I NEED an audio version! I just am making myself NOT spend forever editing and rerecording and all that...trying my hand at just reading straight through, so it may be a bit rough around the edges, but at least it will exist. Also having to NOT allow myself to compare mine to Dusty's. Gah!

       This is gonna be, as my Mom in Law used to say when inviting us to dinner, "nuthin' fancy." But I figure that's better than the alternative, since it would take the rest of my life to record this the way I normally work! Lol, but seriously, that's pretty much what I've been up to in my spare time since Christmas. Assuming that at some point I stop obsessing over Steve'nBucky and switch to another fandom I'll probably be lost!

          I hied me thither as soon as I could, and, well, I went a little overboard. I kinda added your whole public podfic folder to my Drive. (It was easier than adding each podfic piecemeal as I had been doing.)

          Anyhow, I wanted to mention something about chapter 5. I know you're churning these out with minimum editing, etc. – which is totally working for me! – but I wanted to bring to your attention that chapter 5 is a considerably softer baseline volume than the others. I'm not complaining – I'm totally cool with turning my volume up to max for the one chapter – but wanted to mention it in case you weren't aware. Please don't take the FYI as a criticism! [Ducks and covers]

             Thanks for the input - no need to duck! This kind of thing is super helpful - I once posted a podfic where I had accidentally deleted an entire section during final editing and didn't notice till a listener clued me in so I could go quickly and fix it! Unfortunately I have no ideal why the weird volume thing happens sometimes - I always sit in exactly the same spot and speak at the same volume, but lo, Audacity works in mysterious ways beyond my ken. If I get a chance I'll go and amplify it up some and repost. I'll definitely do it before I make an audiobook of a group of chapters, which is something I do intend to do down the road.

                Actually hey I just realized that if you batch downloaded all the stuff on my drive including things that are unposted, you are actually getting raw unedited versions of stuff. Chap 5 isn't up on AO3 yet because I haven't even done the basic sound editing like noise removal and normalizing volume that I do even to these quicky chapters, so that's why the volume is so low! You probably want to wait for the final versions that go up when I post to AO3. Also there are some incomplete stories on there that where done as test bits for fics I later decided not to do, so if you run into those you may be disappointed when they suddenly stop!

    I'm so pleased that you're creating podfic of this story! I just listened to chapter 1, and the simple read-through approach worked really well for me—I think it coordinates nicely with Barnes' mission-focused stream of consciousness. :)

    I like your voice, too! I'm mezzo-soprano, myself, but it's a treat to listen to lower voices when I can.

    I love you! And Owlet and DustySoul! Owlet created this most wonderful universe, and you and DustySoul have brought it to life. I love audiobooks and I'm so happy that you recorded this. I've listened to it three times through since I discovered it. It's wonderfully done, and I love the subtle sound effects you put in, like Clint's voice when he turns away to call to Natasha in Ch. 32 and the static in Ch. 34. Thank you so much for doing this!

       Thank you so much for the wonderful comment! I love this universe and I'm so grateful to Owlet and to Dusty too for the MANY hours I've spent wallowing in it, especially when I need a break from angst and pain. It's the slightly kinder, gentler MCU that I can just live in forever. Glad you enjoy the podfic! When I started I promised myself I'd keep them low key with no deadline and minimum editing, special effects, etc., except when the story really can't be told without it. And it worked! And it's still working as I proceed with Team Building Exercises. Work is briefly killer right now but when things slow down in a week or two I'll be back with more chapters! I'd probably do this just for myself to listen to, but everyone's comments are super motivating and it's so nice to know that all of us Infinite Coffee fans are enjoying this together.

       Re: the run times, lol, you'll probably notice the quality and volume are kinda patchy. I gave myself permission to not fuss the details so as to keep this monster moving! If you get a chance to drop in later concrit always appreciated. Have a good trip! :)

       Chocolate is great, but sinus meds are probably more to the point sadly! I have lots of podficcing time right now due to the cold wet weather. I also can't record some days due to cold wet weather. It's a vicious cycle! Also, I have to switch between different projects to keep interested. I'll work my way back around to this one soon! Thanks for commenting - it does help my motivation!

    I just wanted to drop in again to thank you for how much work you put into your reading. I know that there's a lot of repeated takes and a lot of editing that goes into this, and it really, really works - there's little in the way of clumsy lines in the finished product, and brilliance in so many places. I'm relistening to the podfic now, and I just got to this bit in Chapter 7:

    He had not anticipated such a strong reaction to receiving gifts. In lieu of saying something embarrassing, he hands Steve a box. Steve rips the paper off, opens it, and says, “what the?”

    Barnes hands him another box. Steve opens it and starts to laugh. Barnes hands him another box.

    There is a great difference between the two instances of "Barnes hands him another box", fitting their respective contexts and functions within the text, and it's awesome - just, excellent comedic delivery. And that's not me seeking out a specific example, that's me picking out the moment I happen to be listening to when I decided to make this comment.

    I know podfics don't get enough comments, so I wanted to come back again and say it again: you do a wonderful job. Thank you.

       Hey! Great to hear from you as always! You are right - there are usually A LOT of behind the scenes work in audio. Though I gotta say, for this series, there's less than most, since I'm really trying not to get overly finicky about things. Which, of course, means I'm more relaxed and so read more easily and there are less screw ups and more good bits like the one you pointed out! I love the kind of understated comedy that owlet excels at, and it's a narrow line to walk to have the humor come through yet keep from overly exaggerating things and losing that feeling. Sometimes there's that little voice in my head that says maybe I should read with MOAR EMPHASIS but tbh that's just not my style, so. Thanks tremendously for letting me know that what I'm doing works! Always open to suggestions and concrit. I'm quietnighty on Tumblr these days. I had planned to find a better way to "package" this series since it's one of those very repeatable ones (I still listen to Dustysoul's version of the first story at least a couple times a month!) and I know the volume varies wildly between chapters on the audiobooks, but sadly, the original audio files were lost with my previous computer, so it will have to stand as is, sigh. Going forward I'll try to make things more consistent!
