Work Text:
“Silent salt nervously bounced her leg on one of the hospital's shitty chairs. She didn’t know how to feel about the fact her partner was about to have their first child. Sweat dripped down her head, coming down pouring heavily as if it were a waterfall, every small noise all of a sudden mattered and the bright lights. As Silent salt thought of all the bad things to come then, the moment she was stressed for came. A nurse walked out with a clipboard, her heels made a small noise when she walked, she looked at Silent salt.”
“You're allowed to now see both of them, Ma’am.”
“Silent salt looked up at the nurse as she was very nervous as a first time parent, and blurted out.”
“Are they both fine-?!”
“Yes yes of course…Please calm down Ma’am”
“Silent salt nodded as she gently walked to the room Elder Faerie was in, Room 67, she opened the door as she spoke in a nervous voice.”
“Hi honey…”
“Elder Faerie looked up at Silent Salt, with a tired look in their eyes as they were gently cradling their child covered up by the cloak off one of the hospital's blankets. As they smiled with such tenderness at Silent Salt.”
“She’s here honey…want a look at our daughter…?”
“Silent Salt smiled as she nods, gently bending down to see there first daughter.”
“Wait.”
“Elder Faerie looked up at there Wife, confused as she spoke, with now a hint of nervousness spread into her tone.”
“W- what is wrong-?”
“Why is it a tree-?”
“Elder Faerie looked down at the tree as they cocked an eyebrow and held the tree more protectively to her chest.”
“It just…is, and why is that such a problem?”
“Silent Salt lets drags a sigh and nods no.”
“N- no it’s fine…it’s just a little…weird.”
“Elder Faerie rolled their eyes and then let Silent Salt cradle the tree.”
“She has…your eyes…I think.”
“Yeah she does…”
“Silent salt cradled the child as she nods finally sitting down in a chair right next to Elder faeire. She looked at them with concern in her eyes.”
“Anything you need or that I can get you?”
“No…just a nap so can you look after her please..?”
“Of course.”
“Elder Faerie drifted to sleep as Silent salt looks at her child, she gently ran her hands on the wood of the tree concerned than all of a sudden Elder Faerie woke up nervous.”
“W- what’s wrong love-?!”
“Elder Faerie gasped for air as they gripped the sides of the bed, Silent Salt gently puts the tree back in its crib and looked at her Partner nervous. As Elder Faerie spoke up with a shaky tone.”
“I- I feel like something is wrong- WHERE IS HER BIRTH CERTIFICATE-?!”
“Honey it’s a tree-“
“Elder Faeire gripped at Silent Salt’s arms speaking up a tone louder.”
“NO. IT IS OUR DAUGHTER-!”
“Silent salt looked nervous as she nodded.”
-
“After hours a nurse came in with the birth certificate it had written,”
“This certificates that
Luna Faerie
Was born to
Silent salt and Elder Faerie
On 6/7 in the year of 401
At Faerie hospital”
“Edler Faerie sighed she was less stressed now, she leaned back in the hospital bed looking at Silent Salt, as she spoke up with a hint of weakness in there tone.”
“C- could you please get me some water…and maybe some of that soup you made for me last week…”
“Of course…”
“Silent salt walked out getting some water. She did bring some soup, she heated it up, she tapped her foot while the soup heated up then she just stared in shock.”
“No fucking way.”
“Well, turns out there WAS in fact a way, Elder Faerie had another fucking tree in her hand. This one was blue, Silent Salt dashed to Elder Faerie in there wheel chair as she kneels, as they were now both eye to level as she held there hand with tenderness, her thumb tracing small, and comforting circles on her hand as she spoke up in a small shaky tone.”
“W- when did this happen…and I- it was twins this WHOLE time…”
“Yes..I- I know and I’m sorry about the fact-“
“Silent Salt then cut Elder Faerie off, as she held them close in a warm embrace gently snuggling into their shoulder.”
“Oh honey…it’s fine I just wish you- we knew earlier. What’s the other one’s name?”
“Her name is Jade”
“Silent Salt than gently mubbled both names as she tested how they both slipped off of her tongue."
“Luna and Jade…our little ones…”
“Yes of course our little perfect family..”
“Silent Salt gently pushed Elder Faerie's wheelchair out of the hospital as Elder Faerie tiredly cradled the two of their babies to their chest, the wedded couple having a new profound love for their small family.”
