   Summary

Shaquina Shipman is expected to find herself a husband this season, accompanied by her energetic friend Jacqueline Taylor. Flickers of nightgowns, scandals, luxurious dresses, love letters, and, of course, balls, glisten across the envisioning dreams. But what happens if Shauna exiles her original path and pursues a partner too obscene for societal norms?
