“Looks like we found a place to stay for the night,” she says, and Rick is happy for it, don’t get him wrong- but tonight just seems so far away. She’s warm and real in front of him right now. It’s like he can feel all the long, terrible years touching him, all those endless moments where, no matter how much he wanted to, he couldn’t reach out and have her.
