Chapter Text
Chara tosses and turns in their bed trying to will themselves to sleep. “This isn’t working” they say annoyed. They start climbing out of their window to sneak to Clover’s house.
Chara arrives and knocks on the window. Clover walks up tired but gets concerned when they see Chara. “Chara what are you doing? Did something happen? Are you alright?” Clover asks. “No Clover I’m fine just I can’t sleep.” Chara says. “Oh okay come on in pardner.” Clover says.
Chara climbs through the window and yawns. “Someone’s tired.” Clover teases. “Oh haha. Where am I sleeping?” Chara asks. “Next to me on the bed.” Clover says. Chara’s face turns red “their bed?! What do they mean by that? Chill out Chara. You sacrificed yourself to try and help monsterkind you can’t be having this reaction over a cute… cowboy- agh! Stop it Chara!” Chara thinks losing control over their thoughts. Clover notices Chara’s red face and their own face heats up “Not like that! Just normal… friend way. Not like we’re gonna cuddle or anything.” Clover says trying to sound normal. “I wouldn’t mind that.” Chara says before their brain can stop them. There’s a moment of silence. “I won’t mind ether.” Clover says getting into bed.
Clover pats the space next to them and Chara gets in. Clover lazily wraps their arms around Chara and Chara puts their face right into Clovers chest and hears their heartbeat at a stable calming rhythm. “Good night, Clover”
“Good night, Chara”
In 5 minutes they were both asleep.
