Chapter Text
Peggy’s POV
*****
Peggy sighs as she looks at the messages on her phone. How is she supposed to work with this advice? “Wait till the time is right and ask her out”? She knows it’s the best advice that Herc can give, and she’s thankful that he tried, but how is she supposed to know when the time is right? She thinks about asking him, but then again the conversation already ended. And Herc already went offline. Peggy sighs again and lays her phone down on the table beside her. “I’m never gonna get with Maria.” she thinks to herself. “Not if I don’t even know how to ask her out.”
She decides to do something to get her mind off of things. She looks at the clock and sees that it’s 6:30 PM. She should make dinner. She’s been ordering pizza for the last two days now. She goes into the kitchen to figure out what to make.

And yet she still somehow finds herself on the Doordash app yet again, ordering the same pizza with extra cheese that she’s had for the past two nights. “Am I seriously doing this again?” She says out loud this time. She pauses for a moment. Then she grins. “Yes. Yes I am.” She clicks the ‘order now’ button and buys her pizza. As soon as she’s done ordering, her phone rings. Lafayette is calling her. She doesn’t think twice before answering it.
“Heyyy.”
“Hey, Peggy.” Replies a voice on the phone. Though it isn’t Lafayette’s voice. It’s one that Peggy vaguely recognizes, but she can’t place who it is. “You’re not Lafayette. Who are you and what have you done with him?!” She exclaims jokingly. The man on the other end chuckles and plays along. “It’s Thomas. And if you ever wanna see Marie again, you have to give me a billion dollars.” Peggy also starts to laugh. “Oh please, we both know he’s worth more than that. Anyways, why are you calling me on his phone?” She asks. “Oh. I was gonna call you on mine, but then it died. Can you tell Angelica to unblock me? Like, I asked Alex to tell her, but I guess he didn’t listen. And you like me a lot more than Eliza does.” Thomas answers.
Right. Angelica, for whatever reason, isn’t the biggest fan of Thomas. She doesn’t hate him, but she doesn’t necessarily like him either.
“Oooh. I see. Why’d she block you?” Peggy asks. It doesn’t really matter to her. She’ll tell Angelica to unblock him anyways. She’s just curious.
Thomas responds, “Uuh. I don’t really know, honestly. Like, I kept asking where Burr was and she just kinda did it.” “Pfft. Of course she did. She hates when people pester her. But yeah, I can get her to unblock you. If she doesn’t block me too, that is.” Peggy laughs again and so does Thomas “Good luck, sis.” He says. “Thanks. I’ll need it.” She responds. She’s only being half serious. Then she hears Lafayette say something on the other end of the call “Bye, Peggy!” She smiles. “Bye, Gil.” She then hangs up the phone. She isn’t really sure what to do next. She could invite Maria over. She’d have something to do then. And then maybe… No. It’s too soon. She should wait until a better time. She decides to just watch YouTube and play Block Blast until the pizza arrives.
*****
About two hours passed. Peggy got bored, so now she’s on a group call playing Dress To Impress and eating the few slices of pizza that are left.
“NO!” Thomas yells. “HOW DID I LOSE WITH THAT FUCKING FIT?!” Lafayette is laughing hysterically. “Mon frére…The category was camouflage and your fit was BRIGHT PINK.” “OH?! WELL SCREW YOU GUYS, I’M GETTING ON FREEPLAY!” Thomas yells back.
“Good! Maybe I won’t hear your annoying voice anymore!”
“You’re literally in the bedroom right next to me. On MY bed.”
The brothers continue fighting. Peggy thinks it’s hilarious. It reminds her of her own relationship with her sisters—constantly arguing. Speaking of her sisters, her oldest one, Angelica, then speaks. “Are you two done? I’m sick of Thomas’s voice.” She says. It’s hard to tell if she’s joking or not. “Oh my god, for real!” Lafayette exclaims in return. Thomas scoffs and retorts back, “Marie, you stupid bitch, don’t make me come in there.”
“Try me.”
“Here we go again.” Peggy teases, not actually annoyed. Hercules then speaks up. “Don’t call my boyfriend a stupid bitch, Thomas!” Hearing his voice makes Peggy flinch. Not because she’s scared of Herc, but because she genuinely forgot he’s in the call. He hasn’t been speaking much since he has a sore throat. “Yeah, don’t call me a stupid bitch, Thomas.” Lafayette repeats in the sassiest voice he can. Thomas then abruptly gets off the call. Peggy lets out a little “Oop-” as she realizes that he’s probably about to beat his brother’s ass. She must’ve been right, as the last thing heard on Laf’s end of the call is “Oh shit!” before he too gets off. There’s silence for a second before Peggy bursts out laughing. She doesn’t even think it’s that funny, but the fact that they got off the call just to fight is ridiculous. “Are they serious?” she finally asks.
“Well damn.” Herc adds. “I didn’t think Thomas would actually go in there.” He can be heard faintly chuckling, followed by a quiet but audible “Ow…” before speaking again. “Dudes, I think I’m gonna get off here. I’m tired.” he says. Peggy can’t help but feel a little bummed out. This group call is the only thing giving her something to do. But she understands that Herc is sick and needs rest. “Okay. I probably will too, to be honest” She replies before adding “Hope you get better soon!” “Heh.. Me too.” Herc responds before hanging up, not even bothering to say goodbye. Angelica says a very quick “Rude.” before the two sisters say their goodbyes and hang up.
“Great.” Peggy thinks. “What am I supposed to do now?”
