Work Text:

Harry Potter had always cared about children. Growing up as the eldest, he'd often ended up looking after his siblings. This wasn't due to parental neglect or anything, as James and Lily Potter were wonderful and loving. However they were also regularly fighting in a never-ending war that had been going on for just over three decades. Harry's entire life had occurred during this war, and it was all he'd known.

Harry himself though had no real involvement in it. James and Lily had openly encouraged him to pursue his dreams and not think of the war at all. 'It wasn't his concern', they would say. They also said that Harry should 'enjoy life'.

Harry had definitely taken that advice to heart. Whilst many of his peers joined up with the Ministry as Aurors & Hit Wizards, Dumbledore's Order of the Phoenix or (allegedly) even the Death Eaters .... Harry had instead gotten himself a job at the Wizarding Child Support Agency, or WCSA for short.

The WCSA was technically connected to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement (DMLE) but was largely independent. Their job was to safeguard children, whether this be by protecting them from abuse or helping orphans find new homes. They would provide all sorts of support all the way until the children turned eighteen and became adults.

For Harry, joining the WCSA was the culmination of all he'd done in life. He'd loved looking after his siblings, helping out his fellow students and even helping the odd muggle child or two find their parents (with some sneaky help from his magic, of course!). Being able to continue helping children and getting paid for it was wonderful.

The job did have it's downsides, especially when it came to abuse cases. The horrors that some parents would inflict on their own children never ceased to fill Harry with anger.

However, it was a mostly wonderful job. Harry enjoyed it, got to meet many wonderful people, and had a relatively good work/life balance so he still had plenty of time to spend with his wife and see his family.

Today however, Harry had a meeting with a mother and her new-born baby. He'd been given a few details only the day before, and was eager to crack in and help however he could. He expected it wouldn't be a pleasant case however, judging by his manager's behaviour when he handed Harry the file.

What Harry did not expect however was for the mother in question to be Bellatrix Lestrange, Voldemort's right-hand woman and a leading figure in the Death Eaters.

Now, if Harry worked for a different department then he'd probably feel the urge to arrest her or try to run, but Harry really wasn't concerned with her terrorism. Sure, he hated what she had done but he had a job to do, which was to help children, and he would do that job no matter how bad the parents were.

Sure enough, Bellatrix had a baby with her. A little girl, with her cot having the word 'Delphi' written on the side of it. The baby was currently sleeping, holding a stuffed toy that looked like a basilisk.

Smiling at them both, Harry invited Bellatrix to take a seat.

"Hello, Mrs. Lestrange. I'm Harry Potter, a social worker, and I'm here to help."

Bellatrix's eyes widened. "Potter? This isn't a trap, is it?" she asked, looking fairly agitated.

Harry shook his head "No no no, I understand your confusion. My family may oppose the Death Eaters in the war but I have nothing to do with that. As far as I'm aware neither Albus Dumbledore or his people know you're here, and I have no intention of changing that - after all, I'm here to help all children, including yours."

At that Bellatrix calmed down.

"Now, what seems to be the problem Mrs. Lestrange?" Harry asked calmly.

Bellatrix gestured to her daughter "Her father refuses to pay child support."

Harry nodded "and just for the record, I assume her father is your husband, Rodolphus Lestrange?"

"No. Rodolphus is not her father, and has no part in this. Delphi's father is actually the dark lord himself."

Harry's eyes widened at that. The fact that Voldemort had a child could easily change everything.

"..and he refuses to pay child support?"

Bellatrix nodded sadly, before explaining "I love the dark lord more than anything, he is my master after all. To be the one he took to his bed was the greatest of honours, and one I delighted in. However, he is ... disinterested ... in Delphi, and wishes no part in her life. I want things to work out, but he even ordered my husband to prevent me from accessing the family vaults unless I got rid of her. I couldn't do such a thing to my sweet little Delphi."

Harry had always disliked Voldemort, but now he hated him more than anything. Voldemort was a deadbeat dad, and Harry hated scum like that. There was something he needed to clarify though.

"You love him more than anything?" Harry asked, gesturing to Delphi.

Bellatrix blinked, before quickly shaking her head "Well, almost anything. Delphi is more important to me now."

Harry was glad that was the case. If she were to choose her lover over her child, then Harry would have no choice but to take Delphi away for her own safety. He really didn't want to do that, as under most circumstances a child should be with their family.

After this Harry and Bellatrix spoke further about the details, and in the end as Bellatrix and Delphi left Harry promised her he'd get the issue resolved.

After they were gone, Harry gathered his things and nodded. It was time for him to go speak to Voldemort himself, and hopefully convince him to pay his child support.

--------------------------------

Malfoy Manor has seen better times, and better residents.

Harry had never been here before, but he'd heard Draco Malfoy talk a lot about his family home. His pride at how pristine it looked, with all the birds in the garden. All perfect as a pureblood lord's manor should look, as he said. Now though it was very different. All the birds were gone, and there were small signs of wear and tear to the home itself. The garden wasn't a complete mess, but also was clearly not being maintained properly.

According to rumours, the Malfoy's had invited Voldemort to live with them and he'd made this his base of operations. Voldemort's rage was legendary, and he took it out on everyone around him, including his hosts. They could only take it however, and after a failed assassination attempt against the minister of magic, he'd slaughtered most of the house elves.

Those rumours in question came from Dobby, Harry's trusted friend who had been the only house elf to escape the Malfoy's. He'd tricked Lucius Malfoy into throwing a sock at him, then left immediately after. Eventually Dobby had somehow found himself facing Hedwig whilst the Potters were on a date, and had come to work for Harry and his wife soon after.

That had been four years ago.

The fact that Harry was even here was only thanks to Bellatrix. She was the secret keeper of the manor, and therefore had been able to share it with Harry.

As Harry made his final approach to the door, he ignored the unmarked dirt grave to the left. Harry knocked on the door and waited.

It didn't take long for someone to answer, that being a Death Eater with an incredulous look on his face. Harry wasn't familiar with the members of Voldemort's movement, but Harry still vaguely recalled Marcus Flint from his first few years at Hogwarts.

Marcus just stared at him, so Harry decided to start talking himself.

"Hello there, I'm Harry Potter and I'm with the Wizarding Child Support Agency. I'm looking to speak with Mr. Voldemort if he's in." Harry spoke calmly.

Marcus looked at him in complete confusion "MISTER?"

Harry blinked "Yes. Based on what information I gathered, your master is male. So he's a mister."

"He is the dark lord, not some mere commoner!" shouted another Death Eater. This one was much more familiar to Harry, since he was Bellatrix's legal husband.

Harry nodded "I found no legal proof of him having a lordship, but if you say so then that's fine. Is he here though? because I really do need to talk to him."

Rodolphus pointed his wand at him, Marcus quickly following suit.

"Fine then. If your so eager to meet the dark lord, then come along Potter."

Harry smiled and walked inside, not even mildly scared of the two wands pointed at him. For most people it would be terrifying, having two murderous terrorists ready to kill whilst leading him to an even more dangerous monster - but Harry actually had a plan. He wasn't stupid enough to walk into Voldemort's headquarters without an escape plan after all.

As Harry was led through the manor though, he noticed how terrible it looked. A few of the walls had holes in it, every painting had been vandalised. There was some blood spills, and the sitting room had a bed dumped in it. Harry briefly noted that Narcissa Malfoy was sleeping in that bed with two men who were not her husband, with lots of alcohol bottles surrounding them.

Deeper in the manor was a large room with a large table. Most of the chairs were dirty, but at the end one of the chairs was well maintained. In fact, that chair had clearly been altered to look like a throne - said throne was currently being scrubbed by Lucius Malfoy himself, who had been reduced to wearing rags.

Lucius Malfoy had effectively become Voldemort's House Elf.

As for the man himself, Voldemort wasn't in the chair. He was actually by the window, looking out in concern. Dressed in expensive black robes, even from behind he looked dangerous. It didn't help that there was a giant snake slithering near him.

Rodolphus stopped and spoke clearly "My Lord, this intruder insisted on speaking to you. He's a Potter brat."

Voldemort turned to look at Harry, and Harry couldn't help but blink. He'd heard that Voldemort had red eyes and no nose, but didn't actually believe it until now.

"Harry Potter, I presume. You are either an arrogant fool or an idiot to enter my domain."

Harry smiled "I can assure you, Mr. Voldemort, that I am neither - Although I am Harry Potter, yes."

"Crucio!" Voldemort suddenly snarled, clearly not taking the 'Mr' well. However, nothing happened. The curse collided with Harry's clothing and vanished. After a brief moment of contemplation, Voldemort chuckled.

"Your hiding armour under your clothes covered in runes. I assume some of those runes are designed to counter the cruciatus?"

Harry nodded.

"You shall refer to me as a Lord, for that is what I am. Refer to me as anything else, and I shall use a curse that your armour cannot protect you from. Do I make myself clear?"

"Crystal."

"Good. Now state your business."

Harry nodded again "Okay, well I am here with the Wizarding Child Support Agency on behalf of Bellatrix Lestrange. She's seeking child support payments regarding your daughter, Delphi."

Voldemort and Rodolphus both just stared at him. In fact, Lucius had also stopped working to stare at him in confusion. Marcus also looked confused, but Harry was starting to suspect that was just his default facial expression.

"Child support? Let me get this straight. You came here all alone, into my headquarters to demand I PAY CHILD SUPPORT?" Voldemort stated, his volume increasing until he was shouting.

"Yes. It takes two to tango, after all. Delphi is your daughter, so you have a legal obligation to pay some money for her care. Unless you want to dispute the claim of her being yours."

Voldemort looked angry "That creature is my child, but I want nothing to do with her. In fact I want her dead. I require no heir, as I will live forever. Her existence is a stain on my legacy, and Bellatrix is a traitor for not immediately disposing of her." Voldemort was now shaking in anger "You will not be getting any child support from me, Potter. All you will be getting is death - AVADA KEDAVRA!"

Harry had no time to react as the killing curse collided with him, and he fell over and died.

"Nagini, dinner." Voldemort hissed, only to stop as Nagini refused. Looking back he noticed an odd green glow around Harry's corpse. The other Death Eaters in the room were confused by it as well. Voldemort took a quick look, and
realised that it was some sort of soul magic. It had almost certainly been some sort of failed attempt to defend against the killing curse. Whatever the case, Nagini refused to touch the corpse.

As a result, Voldemort ordered his men to throw the body in the nearby river. Due to the fidelius the death wouldn't be traced to Malfoy Manor, and the discovery of the body would hurt his enemies - after all, Harry's parents were part
of Dumbledore's order.

----------------------------------------

Harry awoke with a cough, some water spilling out of his mouth.

A hand rested on his cheek, as a very familiar and beautiful blonde woman looked Harry in the eyes. She was checking to make sure he was alright, and after a sigh she smiled in relief and kissed him.

Harry loved his wife so much.

After separating again, Harry immediately got to apologising "Sorry you had to resurrect me again, dear."

"Please don't make a habit out of this." Daphne Potter said, looking somewhat annoyed at him. "Thankfully they just dumped your body in a river. Dobby was able to get you easily."

Harry nodded "How long was I out for?"

"Around half an hour. Half of that was with you still in Malfoy Manor though. How was it by the way?"

Harry grimaced "Awful. The whole place was a mess. Lucius basically has Dobby's old job, and let's just say that Narcissa is a wreck. Most importantly though, I got to speak to Voldemort. He wasn't willing to pay, unfortunately."

Daphne stared at him. "Which means you're going to try harder. Despite your current efforts briefly getting you killed."

"To be fair I didn't even try to fight back. However I have many options to get him to pay." Harry smiled slightly, before noticing that Daphne was looking at his forehead.

At Harry's questioning look, Daphne handed him a small mirror. Looking at his face through it, Harry noticed he now had a scar on his forehead - a scar in the shape of a lightning bolt.

"The killing curse. I got hit by the killing curse right on the head." he explained.

Daphne didn't look happy to hear that. "Well please don't let that happen again. I know we're soul mates and all, and that we can resurrect one another under most circumstances - but I'd really not like to put that to the test. I don't-I can't loose you."

Daphne looked ready to cry, so Harry pulled her into his arms. "I won't let it happen again, I promise ... and you're not going to loose me. Not even death will do us apart, love."

Harry rubbed her back as she held him. Daphne had been more emotional lately, especially given their current issue which had been present since before they were even married.

Harry and Daphne had long been in love, and they had gotten married as soon as they could. However they'd actually been trying to become parents for almost a year prior to that. Since 1997 they'd been determined to start their own family, both of them adoring children and wanting some of their own.

Despite everything though, they'd failed. Daphne just wasn't becoming pregnant. It had recently become five years since they'd first started trying, but with constant failure they were both starting to suspect that one of them was infertile. However, neither Harry or Daphne wanted to go to the hospital over this - they didn't want the confirmation.

As a result, their family was each other, plus Hedwig and Dobby. There was also their parents and siblings, but they were all a bit more distant - especially with the war going on. With no children though, both of them threw themselves into their careers.

Harry had always wanted to work with children, but he worked even harder to help every child achieve the happiness he'd likely never be able to give his own. Daphne ran a bakery with her half-sister, Tracey, and often with the help of Hedwig and Dobby.

Once Daphne had calmed down, they went to the living room. Dobby was drying out the clothes Harry had been wearing earlier, whilst Hedwig was watching something about fencing on the television. In fact, Hedwig was holding a knife and trying to mimic how the fencers were using their swords.

Harry made a mental note to speak to Hedwig later to see if she wanted to learn to fence.

"So what's the plan?" Daphne asked.

Harry grinned as he sat down at the table, and brought out his files.

"Indirect pressure."

--------------------------------------------------------------

It started with a letter.

It was a simple letter, featuring the logo of the WCSA. Harry simply wrote to Voldemort, both to establish that he was in fact still alive but that despite everything Harry was still determined to get Voldemort to pay up.

Harry would send many of these letters over the next few weeks. He technically didn't have to send so many, but Harry was feeling a bit vindictive (he did die after all).

During this time Harry kept checking himself in the mirror. The lightning bolt scar he'd gotten had gotten a bit better, but still didn't look great. In time it would fade though.

Harry would also look at a picture of Delphi as he worked. Harry always carried a picture of whichever child he was helping, as a reminder of what he was fighting for. Every time he looked at her innocent face he promised himself once more to get her what she deserved.

In between sending the letters however Harry was preparing other methods of communication. The letters themselves seemed to get no response, but howlers probably would.

Harry didn't like howlers. Molly Weasley had been a big fan of them, and Harry had gone to school with five of her kids. Whilst Percy never received one the other four did, each of them getting humiliated for the school to see. In Harry's eyes it was a form of child cruelty (especially since it screamed in their faces and wouldn't leave them alone until it was done), so Harry had disliked both howlers and Molly herself.

Since there was currently no children at Malfoy Manor however, Harry felt absolutely no hesitation in sending a bunch of howlers to them. Since Hedwig was Harry's familiar she could deliver them past the fidelius (as she'd done with the letters), but Harry felt that having Dobby teleport them into the manor itself was the better option.

According to Dobby the howlers had shattered multiple windows as Harry had over tuned them by 'accident'.

The howlers however did get a response. Voldemort had an owl send a letter to Harry, in which he kindly told Harry to 'get lost' (in fact, Voldemort used much stronger language than that and made it clear that any further attempts would result in his death - again - and that apparently it would stick this time.).

Harry did not in fact 'get lost'. Instead, Harry decided to use the floo.

Now, due to the fidelius the operators of the floo network couldn't actually identify Malfoy Manor, and if their floo was used to communicate or transport to or from another then they wouldn't even notice it. Harry however was able to use it just fine, and so he did.

"Hello, is anybody there?" Harry shouted as he forcibly opened the connection to Malfoy Manor from the safehouse he'd set up for this exact purpose (he couldn't do this at home as Daphne would be upset if the Death Eaters ruined her bread).

A tired face looked back at Harry, this being Rodolphus once again "Potter, get lost. I don't know how you survived, but The Dark Lord is above your stupid fines. Cease at once."

".... did you just capitalise 'the dark lord'?" Harry asked.

Rodolphus snarled and closed the connection before Harry could even ask about child support.

Later that evening though as Harry and Daphne sat down to eat their lasagne Dobby alerted them to a problem outside. Looking out the window the Potters spotted five Death Eaters clearly here to kill them.

Before either could react however Hedwig shot out of the sky with a brick in her claws and let go of it at the correct angle for it to smash into the head of the leader. The other four fumbled as Hedwig dived behind a bush, then flew back up with a sword.

"I thought she just had a knife?" Harry asked.

"I brought it for her a few days ago" Daphne replied.

One of the Death Eaters screamed and ducked as Hedwig's sword pierced through his heart, before she pulled it out and swung wildly to kill another with a cut to the throat. One of the remaining terrorists wet themselves and apparated away, leaving just one.

"But you're just an owl. This can't be happening!" he cried as he shot a killing curse at Hedwig. However, the world's greatest owl effortlessly avoided the curse and threw the sword at him where it bounced off his head. The bonk was enough for him to fall over and smash his own head into Hedwig's brick.

Harry, Daphne and Dobby could only stare in shock at what had just transpired.

"Yeah, this needs to end now."

------------------------------------------------------

Harry, Bellatrix and Delphi were in Harry's office. Harry had summoned Bellatrix in the hopes of finding anything that could help him get the money. After some questions though, Bellatrix eventually explained about a cup.

"Years ago the dark lord gave me a special object to protect. He made it clear I was to keep it a secret and safe above everything else. It's a golden cup. I put it in my vault at Gringotts."

Several hours later, Harry was able to get a warrant to search Bellatrix's vault. There was a few curse breakers with him, as well as some goblins. Harry was glad they were there, as the cup was actually cursed. The goblins were able to dispel the curse and gave it to Harry.

"Good luck, Mr. Potter. Us goblins love our children above all things, so to see one of you Humans abandon yours disgusts us." one of them said.

Once Harry got the cup home he began to inspect it, and after only a small look was able to find the Hufflepuff crest. It didn't take a genius to work out that this cup was the Cup of Helga Hufflepuff. A little bit of digging later allowed Harry to find some old news articles detailing it's theft, alongside a locket that reportedly had belonged to Salazar Slytherin - who Voldemort claimed to be the descendant of.

Either the cup or the locket could sell enough to cover the costs of Delphi's child support, and due to how the law was Harry had every right to do this - especially after Voldemort had repeatedly and violently ignored his previous attempts to address the matter.

However, there was something off with the cup. The goblins had disabled the trap that would have activated if Harry touched it, but there was a darker magic at play.

In the end, Daphne had suggested they turn to her father for help. It took another week for them to find the answer.

The cup was a 'horcrux'.

Horcruxes were soul containers, used as a method of immortality. Harry couldn't help but notice the similarities between horcruxes and soul bonds, as soul mates would have a tiny portion of each others souls in their body. Whilst a soul bond was created from pure love, horcruxes were made of pure hatred and malice. A desire to kill with no regret or hesitation, no mercy or pity, and no remorse.

Harry thought they were disgusting. He also thought it was an opportunity.

The cup was a horcrux, but considering what else Harry had found it was likely the locket was as well. It was even possible that there were more of them. Regardless of how many there were however, they could be used as a threat to make Voldemort pay his child support.

Further research found a potential ritual that could summon horcruxes. It was designed for summoning a single horcrux of an individual (since Voldemort was probably the first to make multiple), but could easily be modified by Harry and Daphne to summon them all.

Then Dobby mentioned something.

"Lucius was also given something to protect. Dobby saw it only once - a book."

Before Harry could respond to it, Dobby handed Harry the book. He'd apparently decided to steal it once he heard about the cup, thinking they might be connected.

The diary was that of a man named 'Tom Marvolo Riddle', who had actually been the main suspect in the theft of the locket and cup.

With two horcruxes in hand, the ritual was able to proceed with no fuss at all. In fact, having two instead of one made it easier since together they served as a stronger focus.

After ten minutes of chanting and spell work the ritual was complete and the locket had appeared before them - alongside two other objects.

One of them was the Diadem of Rowena Ravenclaw, which Harry wasn't really surprised by. The other object was the Gaunt family ring.

The ritual had removed any traps on the horcruxes, so Harry was able to safely handle all five of them. With all of Voldemort's horcruxes in hand, Harry was ready to force Voldemort to pay.

----------------------------------------

"Hey Harry, how's your case going?" Terry Boot asked.

Harry had been filing the last of his paperwork before going to confront Voldemort. He shrugged "It's going alright. The father is a deadbeat who refuses to pay up, but I think I've found something to make him. You?"

"Oh mines really weird. So this guy didn't want to be a dad, so he faked his death, turned himself into a rat and hid with another family for over twenty years." Terry responded.

Harry laughed "Damn, imagine wasting twenty years for nothing."

After that brief laugh, Harry apparated over to Malfoy Manor. Both Dobby and Hedwig were discreetly watching from a distance, ready to help if necessary.

Once Harry breached the property, he sent a blasting curse right at the front door. Someone looked out the window and shouted back in. Soon enough Voldemort himself angrily marched out.

Harry idly noted that nobody else came out. In the time it took Voldemort to come outside and walk to him, Harry had set up a table next to him and put the horcruxes on it and then a cloth on top of them.

"THIS IS IT. I'VE HAD IT WITH YOU, POTTER!" Voldemort shouted.

Harry chuckled "Oh I agree, this is it. I will, for the final time, be making my demand that you pay child support to your infant daughter. Pay now or face the consequences."

"Consequences? consequences? Do you really think you're in the position to make demands of me? I've brought this country to it's knees and slaughtered thousands."

Harry smiled at him "I think I am, Tom Marvolo Riddle."

At that Voldemort froze, staring at Harry in complete shock.

"You see Tom, I don't care that your a dark lord. I don't care that you've committed crimes and killed people, and whilst I was slightly annoyed when you killed me I got over it. In truth all I care about is your daughter getting the financial support she is legally entitled to. Either you will pay it, or your property will be confiscated and sold to cover the costs instead."

Voldemort laughed at Harry "and what will you confiscate? my house that nobody can see? my wand that is always on me? my snake that eats people?" at the end part said snake showed up, slithering nearby. She was clearly ready to attack Harry once Voldemort did.

"No. Your horcruxes."

Voldemort froze again. "What?"

"Your horcruxes."

Voldemort was now looking at Harry in horror, which increased as Harry pulled the cloth away to reveal the five horcruxes.

Harry's eyes widened as Voldemort screamed in rage before whipping out his wand and firing another killing curse. This time however Harry was prepared.

Whilst Harry had never been interested in fighting he had been taught to duel, and part of that was spell deflection (also known as spell flinging). It was a hard to master art of redirecting someone's spell at the last second and sending it in another direction. It was something Harry was actually quite good at, and something that could (with great risk) work on killing curses.

So Harry deflected it to the right, and a scream was heard. Voldemort didn't stop though, sending out killing curse after killing curse. Harry kept deflecting them, and briefly saw one of them hit the snake. Voldemort only stopped when he took another look at the horcruxes.

It turned out that in his rage, Voldemort had accidentally destroyed all five of the horcruxes and Nagini.

"No ... all six of my horcruxes ... gone."

Actually, it turned out that in his rage, Voldemort had accidentally destroyed all SIX of his horcruxes (including Nagini).

At this point Voldemort was physically shaking in rage, but Harry had also had enough - this time he was going to go on the offensive.

Firing off an expelliarmus, Harry shouted "YOU. WILL. PAY. YOUR. CHILD. SUPPORT!"

"NO I WON'T!" Voldemort shouted back, sending another killing curse.

Both spells collided, and a beam struggle occurred. Neither spell or curse could push the other back, and neither wizard could back out at this point. Slowly however, the beams moved towards the ground and when they hit it an explosion occurred sending Harry and Voldemort flying back.

Harry was annoyed to see that his papers had gotten loose, and quickly picked them up and the mirror Daphne had given him. Once he did that he walked over to Voldemort, who had yet to get up.

"It's over Voldemort. Nobody can escape from paying child support, not even you."

"AVADA KEDAVRA!" Voldemort snarled out, firing one last curse at Harry. However by sheer coincidence, the curse hit the mirror and bounced off it and hit Voldemort in the face. Harry could only stare as Voldemort died.

Immediately after Dobby and Hedwig arrived.

"Master Harry, Dobby and Hedwig have dealt with all the Death Eaters inside."

Harry nodded in thanks, before the three saw Voldemort's spirit appear and cry.

"Ah, Mr. Riddle. Just to let you know, since you're dead and have only one family member everything will certainly be left to her - especially since you still owe her money."

Voldemort screamed in rage for a final time before dissipating, and Harry smiled at a job well done.

-----------------------------------------------------

Months later, Albus Dumbledore was reading the news.

The end of the war had been very sudden, and very busy. Since the beginning of it Albus had constantly been on his toes, under pressure to hold out against Voldemort. Finally though, he could relax.

Albus was honestly shocked in how it ended, with Harry Potter beating him. Albus had always liked Harry, he'd been a great student and had always been happy to see him - especially at his wedding. In truth though, he'd not expected Harry to be the one to defeat Voldemort.

Now, Harry did meet the criteria for the prophecy but there was quite a few people who did. Harry simply hadn't stood out from the rest that much. It didn't help that it hadn't even been clear if the prophecy even applied to Voldemort, especially since he didn't even know of it's existence either.

That was all a matter of the past now, as Harry was being celebrated as a hero and the Ministry was massively increasing the budget for the WCSA. Thankfully Albus had been the second person Harry had contacted (via his House Elf), after his wife, and so had agreed to keep the knowledge of the horcruxes a secret.

Albus had never had proof of their existence, but had speculated them as a possible method.

He also speculated that the final line of the prophecy had just played out. It had stated that 'neither could live whilst the other survives'. Voldemort had never won the war, so he couldn't live free of the threat of death. Harry on the other hand had never been a father .... until now. Not even a month after the war ended Daphne Potter was pregnant.

Naturally given the recent events it was front page news.

Just before Albus could put down the paper however, he noticed a smaller article that stood out to him.

"OWL WINS FENCING TOURNAMENT, BECOMES WORLD CHAMPION."

It truly did please Albus to know that even as old as he was, that he could still be surprised by something. Hopefully there would be plenty more surprises in the future.

Notes:

Hello there! Thanks for reading this fic :)

This is a silly one, the idea just wouldn't leave my head. I did try to hint to other things that might have happened, but it's also quite likely I messed up the timeline somewhere - so please don't take this too seriously.

Harry shouting at Voldemort just before their beam struggle was the first thing I thought about in this fic.

Once again Hedwig has a knife. Just to be clear in this fic she has a knife, helps Daphne at her bakery, delivers mail, fights Death Eaters and is a fencing champion.

Now that this is done I'll be starting chapter 4 of 'Gangster Hedwig'.
