Little witch

Summary:

Isagi's long-kept secret was unexpectedly discovered by someone else, and by the very person who was always at odds with him. But actually, Ness is quite adorable!

Work Text:

I'm Isagi Yoichi. When people hear my name, they probably think of my role as the striker in the Blue Lock project.

But actually I have a special identity that I have never revealed to anyone outside my family.

I'm not just a soccer player. I'm also… a wizard.

This absurdity originally came from my lovely parents, why, because my mother is a witch and my father is just a normal person. Yet somehow, by some miracle, they met and got married, overcoming all the differences in status and hardships.

Boom, Isagi Yoichi was born, the crystallization of their sincere love. Furthermore, I was very lucky to have inherited my mother's magical blood.

Ever since I was little, my mother always told me, “Yoichi, you absolutely must not reveal this secret to anyone outside the wizarding community. Otherwise, you will be in danger, Yocchan.”

So, for all those years, I lived two lives, one was studying at the wizarding school, the other was during the summer vacation, I returned to being a striker dominating the field to satisfy my undying love for football. Actually, when I was still studying at the wizarding school, I still played football as usual.

Of course, this secret never leaked out except for Ego-san and Anri-san. When I was called to join Blue Lock, I was a little worried that using magic would be discovered, so I asked my parents for permission to tell them honestly, otherwise if I was discovered and taken to the lab, it would be a disaster! Besides, if there was trouble, at least I still had someone to rely on.

As a result… their reaction was beyond imagination.

I admit that Ego has a pretty open mind. Isagi thinks back and feels both amused and horrified at his stubbornness and madness in dreaming about creating his number one striker.

“You said you’re a witch?” Ego pushed up his glasses, his tone so calm that Isagi wondered if Ego had misheard. There was not a trace of fear, not a single frown. It was as if meeting a witch was just an everyday occurrence. Isagi was so confused that he doubted life, he wanted to shout: Are human these days that bold?!

“Yes. I wonder if it will affect my participation in Blue lock?” Isagi awkwardly scratched his cheek.

Ego looked straight into his eyes, his black eyes reflecting the burning desire that had captivated the teenager in the gathering hall earlier.

“No. I chose you because I saw potential in you on the football field. So whether you’re a vampire or a werewolf, I don’t care. As long as you stay human and don’t do anything weird to cheat during matches, everything will be fine. What I need is someone who can become the world’s number one striker.”

Isagi froze, blinking his deep blue eyes as he stared at Ego in bewilderment and disbelief at his statement. Then, slowly, the little witch bowed his head.

“...Thank you for your trust. And I promise, I will never play football by cheating. Because it would betray the greatest love and pride I have for this sport.”

Anri was a bit surprised at first when she heard it, but she smiled and dismissed it.

“Isagi is a good boy so I'm very relieved.”

Honestly, Isagi thought the number of people who knew his secret would stop at four, at least until the day he got married. But life was unpredictable. In the Neo Egoist stage, that number unexpectedly increased to five!

Ego-san! What kind of business are you doing!!

Usually when Isagi used magic in the training room, Ego would make sure that no one would sneak into the room. But today, while he was floating in the air relaxing, the door that had always stood still suddenly opened and a figure walked in.

Isagi's blue eyes clashed head-on with those of magenta. In just a brief moment, a series of mixed emotions exploded between the two.

“AAAAAAAAA!!!!”

Isagi panicked, hurriedly cast a spell to pull Ness into the room and locked the door, in case this person ran away in fear, screaming loudly for the whole Blue lock to hear.

“You…you…how did you get in here!!!” Isagi screamed loudly, he timidly stuttered to ask about this ridiculous situation.

Ness stood there, not reacting. But seeing his hands entwined together, his eyes shining, sparkling like the starry sky when looking at Isagi was enough to understand Ness's feelings at the moment.

Seeing Ness standing still like a statue, not saying anything, made Isagi wonder if Ness had lost consciousness from the shock.

He’s really worried! Isagi promised Ego that he wouldn't cause any danger, directly or indirectly, to the players.

“Are you okay…Ness?” Isagi landed in front of the magenta-haired midfielder, asking weakly.

“Magic.” Ness muttered softly.

“Huh? What did you say?”

“Magic! Magic really is real !!” Ness suddenly went crazy, he suddenly grabbed Isagi's shoulder and shouted his thoughts.

Ness was truly happy because the midfielder of Munich never expected that one day he would witness this unthinkable thing appear so clearly and realistically right before his eyes. It was just that it was not like the magic he saw from football, where he accompanied Kaiser. But this time it appeared in the form of Isagi Yoichi, the Blue lock teenager who always confronted Kaiser, his emperor, which made him have a grudge but now he only had the same infatuation as the child in the past.

“Hey! Hey! Can you do it again for me?!” The magenta eyes lit up like stars in the dark as it found its own precious treasure.

Joy overflowed, without a trace of fear.

Isagi's eyes widened, he was mentally prepared to face a crisis but unexpectedly Ness didn't panic at all, on the contrary he was extremely excited like a child asking to see more.

“Aren't you…scared?” He asked hesitantly.

“No, I really like magic. Ever since I was little, I believed that magic existed somewhere and always searched for it no matter how much I was denied. And look, I was right, magic really does exist!!!” Ness smiled gently at the thought of this.

Isagi's eyes widened, the little two-seeded boy never expected that one day he would be able to see Ness' gentle side that was always reserved for Kaiser. His heart skipped a beat.

“Well then… I can show you some other charms later. But in return, will you promise to keep my secret, Ness?” Isagi tilted his head, his voice soft and polite, his deep blue eyes sparkling like a pleading puppy.

Ness - who normally only saw Isagi's angry and cursing face - Alexis suddenly felt a bit embarrassed when being treated like that, his ears turned a lovely pink color, his hand unconsciously covered part of his face.

“...I won't tell anyone.”

“Thank goodness! If you hadn't agreed, I would have had to erase your memories!” Isagi held his chest, breathing a sigh of relief as if he had just escaped death.

“Erase memories? Yoichi… can do that?” Ness’s expression reversed, his eyebrows raised meaningfully.

“Um… even though it’s a bit difficult and leaning towards illegal but I’m afraid you’ll tell Kaiser.” Isagi was a bit embarrassed when he was pointed out. Who would like their memories to be suddenly interfered with, right?

“I swear I won’t tell anyone, not even Kaiser. So… please don’t erase this wonderful memory!!” Ness immediately squeezed Isagi’s hands tightly, his eyes filled with tears.

“Okay. I promise.” Isagi ran his fingers through Ness’s hair in a gentle, soothing motion, like coaxing a puppy that was hugging him tightly and acting spoiled.

“But none of Yoichi's friends know?” Ness tilted his head slightly in wonder, his eyes sparkling.

“Yeah, just Ego-san and Anri-san.”

“Ha! Look at you, Blue Lock! You guys are not as trustworthy as I am. Yoichi chose to trust me, not you guys!” Ness laughed smugly, suddenly feeling a little happy inside.

After dealing with the gagging issue, Isagi happily hummed and returned to practice while Ness sat in a corner watching him, his eyes never leaving him for even a second. The blue-black haired teenager could still clearly feel the burning gaze from the magenta-eyed midfielder as if he had something to say.

“Alright, Ness. Is there anything you want to ask me?” Isagi sighed, he really couldn't ignore this intense gaze.

“Yes! Yes! Can you show me the magic?” Ness was a bit embarrassed when Isagi noticed his greedy gaze, but since the opportunity came, he was not stupid enough not to ask.

“Of course. You really are into magic, huh?” Isagi chuckled lightly, his eyes curving with delight.

The little boy agreed immediately because he was known to be easy to please and this incident wouldn't harm him in any way. Who knows, maybe after this incident, Isagi and Ness could become friends!

“Here, take my hand!” Isagi held out his hands, his smile so bright that Ness felt guilty.

Feeling a little embarrassed, Ness slowly reached out and took it. His palm was warm, and his heartbeat suddenly became erratic.

“Just follow me!”

Saying that, Isagi took the magenta-haired boy's hand and led him step by step into the air. His feet no longer touch the ground, making Ness a little panicked, but not out of fear but excitement. He seemed to feel an invisible staircase leading him to the ground in the air. His heart was pounding as if it wanted to jump out, his cheeks flushed with excitement. Even though the magenta-eyed boy didn't say a word, his eyes were getting brighter and brighter, making Isagi know that this person was very happy like a child receiving a gift.

He chuckled softly at the cuteness. The soft laughter echoed in the air, causing Ness to look up. What caught his eyes were a pair of sparkling, deep blue eyes, gently curved like a glowing sapphire.

“Let me invite you to this dance, Ness! It's been a long time since I had a dance partner!” Isagi tilted his head, a hint of gentleness in his mischievous smile, suggesting.

Ness was speechless, just nodding his head vigorously.

Immediately, the teenager snapped his fingers. A soft, dreamy melody filled the room. At the same time, Isagi specially used a shaping spell to transform the sounds and notes into realistic golden illusions that appeared and flew around the room, shining like a flock of small fairies. He also turned off the lights in the room, making the room even more sparkling and magical like the world of fairies, filled with gentle sparkles.

Ness nearly jumped from the wonder of the magic. He was stunned, gasping for breath, his eyes following each streak of light as if he wanted to burn it all into his memory.

At that moment, the two teenagers held hands and spun around, letting themselves waltz. Their steps matched the rhythm as if there was nothing else to worry about but this moment. Each spin caused the hems of their robes to flutter, and Isagi and Ness’s hair to blend together in the hazy breeze created by the magic.

The golden light of the sparkling “spirits” wrapped around the two of them, occasionally lightly touching their skin like small, vague kisses. Ness tightened his grip on the hand that was holding him, each beat of his heart beating loudly in his chest as if trying to match the music. He didn’t dare blink, afraid that if he missed even a moment, the scene before his eyes would vanish like a dream.

Isagi smiled, his eyes shining with gentleness but also with mischief, as if to say, “Isn’t it beautiful, partner?!” He led the beat, each step steady and graceful, causing Ness, despite his clumsiness, to naturally be swept along.

Isagi's clear laughter echoed from time to time, blending with the music, making Ness feel like he was floating in a world of just the two of them. No more fierce fighting, no more reality, just an endless dance in the air like a magical dream.

Ness whispered, his voice trembling but full of sincerity.

“Yoichi… if this is a dream, I don't want to wake up.”

Isagi was slightly surprised by Ness's emotional reaction. But instead of shrinking back, he just smiled, a pure and sincere smile, as if to dispel all the worries in the other person's heart. He stood on his tiptoes, closing the distance, letting his forehead lightly touch Ness's.

At that moment, the world seemed to stand still. Their breaths mingled, close enough for Ness to clearly feel Isagi’s steady heartbeat, bringing a strangely gentle comfort. The illusory light from the golden spirits still hovered around them, illuminating Isagi’s sparkling blue eyes.

For Isagi, this was a rare freedom. He had to keep this important secret so often that he felt really restless. He just never expected that one day he would be able to freely express a part of himself to someone other than his parents. Someone he never thought of, Alexis Ness.

“I'm really happy, Ness!” As the two landed safely on the ground, Isagi smiled brightly, his face lighting up.

“Alexis…” Ness whispered, cheeks flushed.

“Huh?!”

“Yoichi can call me Alexis or… a nickname is fine.” Ness blushed.

Isagi blinked his big round eyes and smiled brightly like the sun, seeing Ness open up to him made Isagi really happy.

“Lexis-chan! So we're friends from now on, right?”

“U-um…but don't even dream of me passing the ball to you on the soccer field…” Ness stammered, trying to return to his usual arrogant demeanor.

“Of course. On the field and off the field are two different matters.” Isagi chuckled.

“Can you still show me magic in the future?” Ness asked softly, his eyes shining with anticipation.

Isagi winked and raised his hand in an “ok” sign.

As he watched Ness leave the room, Isagi's heart was still filled with excitement. While he was still feeling happy, Ego appeared on the screen with a judgmental gaze.

“I agreed to protect you so you can focus on football. But not you flirting with other players!!!” Ego growled.

“Eek!!! What flirting!!!”

“No more talking!!! I saw it with my own eyes. If there's a next time, you'll have to keep this a secret yourself, Isagi Yoichi!”

“...Sob! Yes sir…”

Isagi is upset, Isagi felt wronged but did not dare to speak.

1.
“It seems like Ness and Yoichi have been unusually close to each other lately?” Kaiser narrowed his eyes, his voice filled with doubt, his gaze fixed on the pair of friends who were always close to each other during breaks.

“Oh, or did Ness betray you, Kaiser?” Erik whistled teasingly, deliberately adding fuel to the fire.

“I saw him on the field, still normal. Ness never passed to Isagi.” Grim shook his head.

“Or did Isagi cast some kind of spell on Ness?!” Erik said dramatically.

“... That makes sense.” Kaiser frowned slightly, his voice low.

“Don’t be delusional! Even if there was a potion or a charm, it should be Ness who poisoned Isagi!!” Hiori interjected indifferently, looking at them indifferently.

“That's right! That's right!” Kurona nodded repeatedly as if to prove Isagi's innocence.

Kaiser's group was in an uproar when they suddenly noticed Isagi's group approaching. The two groups stood facing each other, no one said anything, just staring at each other as if they were participating in a game of "whoever blinks first loses". The atmosphere in the training ground suddenly became so tense that it seemed like you could hear the wind blowing by.

“Are you guys just going to stand there staring at each other? Isagi and Ness are leaving together again.” Yukimiya was speechless, his voice both helpless and frustrated at the other group's childish competitiveness.

"What!!"

“Let's call a temporary truce. I want to know why Ness and Isagi are suddenly so close.” Hiori suddenly spoke, his cold eyes flashing with seriousness.

Kaiser stared at the blue-haired man with a skeptical gaze. There was a heavy silence, then he gritted his teeth.

"Okay."

2.
“Isagi, why are you getting along with Ness these days?”

After agreeing to cooperate with the Kaiser group, Isagi's three roommates took advantage of that night when the four of them were in the bedroom to ask around.

“Hmm… it's just that we recently discovered common interests so we have a lot of topics to talk about.” Isagi was a bit confused as the three of them stared at him.

“What is it? Can you share it with us?” Hiori asked gently, but his eyes sparkled with curiosity.

“Sorry, Hiori. I promised Lexis-chan it was a secret.” Isagi scratched his cheek, then clasped his hands together in an apologetic gesture.

“Lexis…chan?!” Kurona almost fell backwards. Yukimiya and Hiori also gasped at the same time.

The three of them gave each other the signal 'No way!!'

“Yeah. Lexis-chan let me call him that! Isn't it cute?” Isagi smiled innocently as if he didn't notice the fierce undercurrents of his three friends.

“Isagi, have you stopped loving, stopped loving Kurona?" The little shark whispered, his eyes glistening with tears. He suddenly crawled onto Isagi's lap and looked up at him with a pitiful expression.

So cute!!! Isagi screamed silently in his heart, his heart melting. He quickly hugged Kurona tightly as if he wanted to comfort the whole world in his arms.

“How could I not love Kurona! You are my little satellite!” Isagi fondled the red shark's cheeks and said sweetly.

3.

“Ness, are you going to betray me?” Kaiser asked bluntly, his sharp gaze making his friend jump.

“Huh?! Who the hell is spreading that rumor?!” Ness panicked, turning around to face his emperor.

“I see you've been hanging around Yoichi a lot lately. Are you trying to steal my clown?” Kaiser seemed to not see his friend's confused expression, he frowned and demanded an answer.

“Ah… Yoichi. It’s just that he and I have found common ground recently, so we’ve gotten together. On the field, I definitely won’t pass the ball to Yoichi.” Ness was afraid that Kaiser would misunderstand, so he hurriedly explained.

“Common ground? What do you have in common with Yoichi? Are you two planning on learning to swear at each other or something?” Kaiser raised his eyebrows, skeptical of life.

“No…but I can’t tell you. Anything but that.”

“Huh?!” Kaiser was furious, feeling betrayed by his loyal servant.

4.
“On this side, we only gathered Isagi who shares some interests with Ness.” Hiori rested his chin on his hand, his expression serious.

“Ness also said it shares a common ground with Yoichi.” Kaiser grimaced, annoyed as if he was being cuckolded.

“So in the end, neither side was able to find anything concrete?!” Yukimiya held his forehead, sighing in disappointment.

“Did you guys drag me out here just to say that? What's so wrong with Isagi being close to Ness?” Kunigami crossed his arms, his voice full of annoyance.

“That's a big problem!!” Both sides shouted in unison, the sound was so loud that Kunigami wanted to leave immediately.

“...”

5.
When the whole gang decided to secretly follow the new best friends.

“They're in the practice room.” Erik whispered excitedly.

“I'm not blind!” Kaiser snapped, his voice full of irritation.

“You two keep your voices down. If Isagi finds out, all efforts will be in vain.” Hiori frowned and reminded.

“Shh. They're in, they're in.” Kurona reminded.

The group signaled to each other, nodded, and eagerly swiped their cards to enter to catch that couple. But they swiped and swiped, but the door still refused to budge. Their bewildered eyes looked at each other.

“Is the door broken?”

“Or is your card broken?”

So the entire German team took turns pulling out all their cards to try, the scene was exactly like a bunch of claw machine addicts frantically pressing. The result? The door remained still like a solid wall separating their two worlds.

“What the hell!!!! Didn't the two Isagis get in just now?”

While the whole group was both annoyed and confused. It was time to "catch that couple in the act" and yet this incident still happened.

How can we stand it!!!

The secret is right in front of our eyes!!!!

“Hello, you idle unpolished lumps of talent. If you have time, go practice, otherwise disperse immediately!” Ego's commanding voice suddenly came from the speaker right there.

“It’s you, isn’t it?” Kaiser was furious, he immediately understood why none of the cards were swiped. The culprit must be this bowl-headed guy.

“Ego-san, we just want to practice with Isagi.” Hiori immediately played the fool, his voice soft as honey.

“Ha! Do you think I'm stupid? Disband now, or I'll call Noa to handle this right now.”

"Damned!"

The whole group cursed in unison, feeling resentful but unable to do anything. The mission to catch the couple went up in smoke, a miserable failure under the most powerful hand in this building.

“Looks like Ego-san has successfully saved us!” Isagi used a see-through spell and breathed a sigh of relief.

“I didn't expect them to be so determined.” Ness chuckled, his eyes shining with amusement.

“Isagi Yoichi, I agree to cover for you, but don't make more work for me.” The screen in the room suddenly showed Ego's face, close enough as if it wanted to crawl out, warning.

“Yes!” The little boy immediately bowed his head, his voice obedient like a student caught red-handed by the teacher.

“If we get caught, Yoichi just needs to  erase all their memories!” Ness, who was as calm as a fly, said in a gloating manner that almost made Isagi choke.

“Lexis-chan! That's not good. Besides, if they see us like this, they'll just be curious again, what's the difference?!” Isagi was helpless.

“I don't care. No one is allowed to stop me from exploring magic! Now, what will Yoichi show me today?” Ness replied nonchalantly.

“Really, Lexis-chan is so mean! But remember to practice soccer with me later!”

6.
“Your nickname the magician… comes from your love of magic, right?” Isagi suddenly realized, his deep blue eyes shining with curiosity.

“That’s right. Yoichi doesn’t know, I was overwhelmed when I saw a shot into the net that could shake the entire stadium. That was the moment I believed that magic really existed and that players were wizards. They didn’t use wands, but rather their feet and the ball. From then on, I vowed to become someone who could cast my own ‘magic’ that could turn the world upside down like that. And Kaiser was the savior who stepped forward, giving me a chance to make this crazy dream come true.”

Ness recounted nostalgically. His voice trailed off in memory, his magenta eyes shining with reverence, mixed with a slight tremble of emotion.

Isagi listened, his lips curving into a gentle smile.

“I believe you can, Lexis-chan. Because deep down, I always think…everyone of us has our own magic flowing within us. It could be talent, a dream, or an undying belief. As long as we keep believing, that ‘impossible thing’ will definitely come to those who dare to touch it.”

Isagi's words were like a warm breeze that penetrated Ness's heart. Even after becoming friends, he still couldn't get used to Isagi's gentleness outside the yard.

“Thank you, Yoichi.”

In the past, Kaiser was the only one who helped me see magic. But now, the number of people has risen up to two and the name engraved in his heart is Isagi Yoichi.
