Do sheep count humans?

Summary:

Zedalph was an sheep hybrid.
It's that time of the year, he needs to lose his wool.

Notes:

English is not my first language, this was gathering dust in my notes.
I hope to fully commit the worst errors of grammar and vocabulary possible, it's my way of fighting against not being able to speak an word in English.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Zedalph was an sheep hybrid.
He had certain needs from time to time...it made him a little ashamed.
While in the winter and autumn it was okay for him to live with his full coat of wool. But for spring and summer it was unbearable.

While hermitcraft had it's weather cycle with no high temperatures (only some planned days of snow) it was still an bother, mostly for instincts and keeping the wool clean and not stained was very hard.
So he needed to shear it off at least two times per year, only one time if he choose the exactly good time (mid start of spring, before the temperature off server was high, it gave time enough for his wool to grow to winter and be fuzzy in autumn).

He couldn't do it alone, and he trusted very little people with the tasks, his family of course. But also the zits. They were all trustworthy but only one of them was actually trusted with shears, and it was not who you expected.
Tango and impulse were incredible, but both of them had the problem of not knowing anything about wool, tango for laking hair all together, having at max an fuzzy buzzcut when his fire was extinguished. And impulse knowing a lot about hair, but straight, at max wavy hair, and not being actually that kneen in high grade shearing jobs, outside the industrial kind were you had dispensers and an unhealthy amount of nicks on the sheeps after.
But for some reason skizz was actually good doing it?

It happened one day, mid spring, zedalph caught him shearing an yam next to the barn on their zits private server, he was talking in an calm tone with the animal, without an nick or stress, the yam looked lax in between his legs while he did the last of wool.

-Here you go buddy! All clean off! He said letting the sheep go, she was more than happy to lay down a little more grazing down.

-Working on something?

-Zeddlepop! You almost killed an man off his heart. He said jumping in place comically still.

-Sorry, I couldn't help myself, watching doing with all this wool?

The place had piles of wool sorted in natural colors.

-I was caring for those lads, Impulse said that clerbet wanted some fine wool, It was in time for care for them.

-Oh.

Zedalph knew that skizz really liked his sheep and textiles, but didn't knew that he did all the steps.

-Need something zeddlebop?

-Actually yes...

(Later)

-Are you...really sure this, I don't really think it's similar? Skizz said, the space in the bathroom wasn't cramed, but it felt a little like it. Zedalph, was cooling down the last of the blades from the shearing kit.

-It's, I've sheared a lot of sheep and I know it's kinda similar. Zedalph said, putting down the last blade.

-I don't know why you are trusting me with this. Skizz was looking a little nevous, it didn't matched his overall personality or energy.

-Are you really going to ask this? Zedalph tilted his head, picking up an hairband, putting his hair out of the way before everything else.

-Yeah, I am.

-Funny.

Zedalph said, taking off his shirt and pants, giving the shears in skizz hands before sitting down on the stool.

Skizz had careful hands, zedalph almost couldn't feel the first touch because of the wool. He used his hand to separate the wool and observe the skin underneath.

He worked carefully. Slowly, zedalph felt the pull of his skin go away the wool falling down on the floor like an mat.

-Here ya go buddy, how you do what about legs and arms?

-I can do my arms...can you help me with my legs?

Zedalph got up, lifting the boxers underwear into booty, making it rest on the curve of his leg.

Skizz whistled.

-Nice booty.

-Skizz!

-It's true. You know that. Skizz said with an snicker, changing the blade of the shearing machine, before dropping down on one knee, holding zedalphs leg by the calf, holding it still while shearing the wool, he changed for the other leg. Before giving the shears to zedalph, who quickly finished his own arms.

Zedalph felt refreshed, actually being able to feel the slight breeze on his skin, it would still take an good shower for take off the lalonin and probably ask tango for the peak work of art eletric file to be ready for the rest of the year.
It had took less than an hour, not taking in time cooling everything, it was an very small time in comparison if him had tried to do everything alone (and also kept him from gain a lot of nicks and shear burns)
Zedalph had an last look at the mirror, seeing just the slight white fuzzy of his skin.

-Thank you skizz, really. He said. Looking at skizz, that was actually sitting down, inspecting the wool.

-Will you do anything with this?

-Normally I throw it away, it's too little for an full block.

-It's high quality wool.

-...You are kinda strange talking about it this way.

-didn't you just said that you have information about the weight of yarn? You probably experimented with it enought.

-You have an point, do you want it.

-If it's not an problem, yes.

-Alright.

...

Another spring was approaching, it was a new season on hermitcraft, season 10.
Zedalph, walked with an slightly beaten up shulker in hand.
He saw the familiar silhouette of his friend.

-Do you need something Zeddlepop?

Notes:

My family works with sheep and goats, mostly the meat kind.
I've grown up around those animals, they hold an special connection for me.
In general I think that both are very stubborn animals, goats a little more. But I've always loved to just stay amongst them.

I've never fully sheared an sheep, the kind we have here is not the woolen kind, but I had the opportunity some years ago to give it a try, it's not exactly "hard" but you need to have an gentle hand and the technique to do it safely.

Lalonin is an natural oil that sheeps produces, it's responsible to keep the wool mostly "waterproof" and hidrate their skins. It's actually a really good hydration device, commonly used in the nipples while breastfeeding.

I'm actually not sure about cooling the blades for sheep shearing, I know about it from dog grooming.
