Chapter 1: Prologue : Taehyung's Story Time

Chapter Text

“Believe me !”

Seokjin shakes his head as he is chopping some onions for their dinner. His brother can be really weird sometimes. Seokjin got home two days ago. Their parents went overseas for business trip as always, so he is already used being a chef, a housekeeper, plus Taehyung’s babysitter for the mean time (the semester is already ended anyways, and the part time job starts tomorrow.).

Taehyung, who is sitting on the tall chair, pouts, and put his chin on the kitchen counter. “Why do you never believe me ?”

Seokjin sighs.“Because the last time you told me a story was about a lasagna monster living in the fridge ! How can I believe your story this time ? Besides, there is no such things as vampires, Taehyung. You watch too many weird movies....” Seokjin stirs the onions that already on the pan, backfacing Taehyung.

The eight years old avoid Seokjin’s statement about his lasagna monster.“Have you seen him in person ? He looks really pale. When I mean really pale, he is really pale.”

If,” Seokjin dumps some chicken breast into the pan. “vampires really do exist, you can’t even tell someone is a vampire or not just by his skin tone.”

Seokjin doesn’t see Taehyung’s sparkling eyes.“He is also scared of garlics !”

Seokjin rolled his eyes from Taehyung’s statement. “Just stop, Taehyung. Don’t make up some random facts about this random guy.”

Taehyung scrunches up his nose. “I didn’t lie.”

“How would I know ?”

Seokjin recieves no answers. Only the sounds of sizzling fills the room before a thump interrupting the silence. He turns around, only to find an empty chair and his brother is already in the living room, walking towards the front door with fast paces.

“Where are you going, Taehyung-ah ?” The youngest Kims doesn’t even flinch a little bit and just keeps walking.

“How about your dinner ?”

Taehyung stops right in front of the half opened door, hand on the knob.

“Not hungry.” Then he walks outside, and slams the door.

Seokjin cringes at the loud sound. He stands in the middle of the kitchen, with pink apron still attached to his body. The stir fry chicken is still sizzling on the stove, a minute away from being burned.

Taehyung was the one who begged him to cook half an hour ago. Seokjin feels guilt crawling to his chest.

His mother would gave him a long-assed lecture If she knew.

But Seokjin is already fed up by Taehyung’s oh-so-believable stories. Seokjin knows that he is still a kid. But still, he can’t takes Taehyung’s words seriously.

He sighs. A burned smell tickles his nose. He jerks and immediately turns off the stove.

He needs to find Taehyung before his brother gone further.

Meanwhile, on a flat beside the Kims’ residence, a pale man with headphone is sitting in front of a computer.
