Summary
The season starts in two weeks. Shane has driven to Ottawa to spend seven days with Ilya before they have to go back to being rivals in public and secrets in private.
Seven days in Ilya's new house—the one with the backyard where they can hold hands, the guest room waiting for a purpose neither of them will name, and the high-thread-count sheets Ilya bought because Shane mentioned once that he liked them.
Seven days to learn how to exist together. To talk about the things they've been avoiding. To figure out if they can build something real out of stolen moments and whispered promises.
Seven days before the ice.
