    "The coffee is—" Kyle gestured towards the kitchen, as sparsely furnished as the rest of the flat. His eyes swept the room, never landing on Price. "You know where it is. I need a shower."

    Before Price could reply, he turned and disappeared into the master bedroom.

    In his wake, the bedroom door crept slightly ajar, and Price squeezed his eyes shut, taking in the familiar sounds of Kyle getting ready to shower — the drawers opening and closing, the slide of the glass shower door, the water hitting porcelain. Price swayed, wishing he was drunker, and trying not to think of Kyle naked in the next room.
