Chapter Text
You'd think having nine domains, the other Olympians would've cut Apollo some slack. Unfortunately, that only ever made Zeus pressure him more. Ever mistake he ever made was always blown to extreme proportions. Hermes always liked to joked that offending the king of the Gods was as easy as breathing. And in Apollo's Case, all it took was a stare.
If only that was a joke, he had been blamed for the uprising of the gods alongside Poseidon; which he thought was ridiculous considering Athena had came up with the plan and wasn't reprimanded.
And the Titan war, where Apollo had been blamed for letting The Prophecy of Seven out too "early". He was the god of prophecy for ancients sake, not the Oracle. He had no jurisdiction of when prophecys came. But all that's behind him.
He's a god again, Meg is happy, His relationship with Artemis is slowly getting better. Hades, he had a conversation with Hera for longer than five minutes! His Imortal life was starting to look brighter, no pun intended.
He was fine, he was happy. So why does he still feel so uncomfortable?
Well he decided to push that thought to the back of his mind. The Olympians were set to have their weekly meeting today, which Apollo was Definitely looking forward to. The past few meetings had gone... fine. He had almost no troubles with the rest of the gods. Almost...
Ever since his quest with Meg, Apollo had noticed something. His Father was an awful ruler. He didn't take accountability for any of his actions. He didn't think about anyone besides himself, not to even mention mortals.
But its fine, He's going to go to that meeting and everything is going to be fine. It will be a quick in and out. That's what Apollo told himself as he walked up to the throne room and sat down on his throne.
His father and Hera were already sitting down, along with his uncles and Athena. HIs sister was next to follow and soon after all of the Olympians were present. Hopefully this meeting didn't drag on for too long...
"Well, Brother, it has come to my attention that you have still not completely settled the damage that the second giant war caused." Poseidon said dragging on a conversation from before the meeting had started
"Well, the entire reason the giant war started was because of Apollo's negligent behavior, you've been neglecting your duties as the sun god, in some places, the Sun won't set and others it'll set too early." Zeus complained deflecting the situation onto Apollo again.
"Father, the sun is not supposed to set in northern Alaska in the summer." Apollo replied calmly trying not to anger the older man with minimal success, earning him a look of pity from Hermes
"And now he's talking back! He's been ever so defiant since he came back from his punishment. I can't stand for his unruly behavior no longer" Zeus exclaimed rising from his chair, thunderbolt crackling with electricity in his hand.
"Father, surely you may excuse him? He just-" Artemis tried to defend her brother was cut off by Zeus mid sentence. His fury momentarily sifting to her.
"Unless you wish to join your brother in his punishment I suggest that you stand down." Zeus' was certainly getting annoyed, his voice loud like thunder and crackling like lightning.
Artemis, despises the earlier warning sat up from her throne and walked over to Apollo's her face a mix of determination and slight fear. "No, unlike the rest of you I'm shall act with kindness and dignity instead of lies and scapegoats." She said looking at Zeus directly.
"Arty, you don't have to do this." Apollo whispered trying his best to persuade his sister, who's looking like she has a death wish, down.
"If that is your decision then, IT IS ARROGANCE THAT HAS LED TO YOUR PUNISHMENT." Zeus exclaimed taking his master bolt and striking the two gods.
After experience his powers being stripped away from him twice already. He knew what to prepare for. Pressure, intense nauseating pressure. Then came the burning that felt like a sunburn in all the wrong places.
And before Apollo realized it, they were falling. He felt Artemis grab onto him, trying to prevent them from being separated before they fell into a garbage bin with a loud
THUMP
