Astrid, correct?
ASTRID
Yes, uhm, you guys do research about... paranormal stuff, am I right?
JONATHAN SIMS
Yes, uh, maybe. What did you say you were here for again?
ASTRID
A statement, as you call it.
JONATHAN SIMS
Right, of course. err... you do know what a statement is, correct?
ASTRID
ah, that, I do, actually. One of my friends came here for that same exact reason.
JONATHAN SIMS
Right, just take a seat, this will probably take a long time.

Statement of Astrid Marybelle, regarding?
ASTRID
Being buried alive.
JONATHAN SIMS
Right. Statement of Astrid Marybelle, regarding being buried alive. Recorded direct from subject, August 5th, 2017. Statement begins.
ASTRID (STATEMENT)
I swear I am not lying.. it was early into August, I was working, boring designing job, I don't need to say more. So, I was working, then my friend practically ran into my store, shouting something about it being an emergency, and before I even knew it, I… okay, I'm serious, I don't even remember what I was doing, my sincerest apologies, well... while doing whatever, I think I remember my friend suddenly disappearing into the kitchen of her house? She came back to me a few minutes later, that would've been normal without the fact that she literally stabbed me. At first, it felt like a normal cut, then it felt like I was burning, then it just got cold, like, freezing cold, the kind you'd get being outside during winter wearing nothing but a swimsuit. After that, I couldn't remember anything.
And suddenly, I woke up, surrounded by nothing but darkness, and wood. I felt my surroundings and realized that I got buried alive. As my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I felt something wet on my back, you could imagine my horrors when I touched my sides and felt sharp, stinging pain. Luckily enough, whoever buried me didn't get rid of my 2 scarves, so I used one of them to wrap around my new stab wound, and the other one I used to cover my head, and I kicked the coffin, I kicked the damn thing like my life depended on it, well, it most likely did anyways. It took a few tries, and some breaths, but I finally managed to break the damn thing. So much dirt entered the coffin, and earthworms, too, ew... I knew I had to act fast, but I couldn't help but feel some panic, I mean... it's natural, right?
I finally muster up the courage I so desperately needed, and swam up against the dirt, trying my best not to get it on my face. One thing to note is that it felt..endless, like I was buried deeper than usual, dirt just kept pushing me back down, and I felt... crushed, not the kind where you're in debt or anything, but literally crushed, I could barely breathe properly. It took... maybe 30 minutes? Untill I saw the first glimpse of the nice, warm sun everyone cherishes so much, and god it felt amazing, to not be crushed under the earth, in an enclosed space, waiting until the remaining, precious oxygen disappears and I suffocate to my own slow, painful death.
I managed to grab onto a tree, and pulled myself above the dirt, that is now below me. I managed to carry myself to the nearest hospital, managing to stay conscious before collapsing at the front desk, I had to stay there for two weeks after that little incident, and I went on a small break from everything. I needed time to recover both physically, and mentally..
JONATHAN SIMS
Statement ends, correct?
ASTRID
Yes... I don't know what caused my friend to even try to kill me, it's strange, to be honest.
JONATHAN SIMS
Mhm, we'll try to figure out.
ASTRID
(Hopeful) so you believe me?? Will you guys actually discover whatever caused her to be like this??
JONATHAN SIMS
I hope so.
ASTRID
(Excited, maybe) Oh thank God! Thank you too, I mean- I'll.. just leave it here, thank you so much!
