Work Text:
Vivian hasn't been in a good head space since her mother, Rosealine passed. She couldn't wrap her head around it, it felt unreal, like she could go downstairs right now and her mom would be there. Cooking dinner and working for hours on end for her daughter and husband, selfless. Vivian thought. She would describe her mother as a selfless person. Who died in a selfish way. Selfish. The exact opposite of her mother. Her father, Vlad. He selfishly killed her, took her from Vivian. She was only recently connecting the dots, she was horrified to be in a house with her own father.
She could hear him right now, yelling at that danm robot. A replacement of Her mother he made for himself. Selfish. She didn't want to care but she did. He was yelling, really yelling. Vivian grew up with a violent father due to his mental conditions but it really worsened recently.
She hesitantly went down the stairs, each step felt like she was closer to a missile that was going to erupt any moment, destroying everything around them. Her gaze darken seeing the broken glass on the floor and the empty beer cans all around. She trailed down into the basement where her father worked and had it set up and a laboratory.
"Dad? Why are you yelling it's 2 in the morning..." Vivian said, the rooms bright lights were nearly blinding the white room being unsettling in the middle of the night.
Vlad looked a mess. He had some sort of black oil on his lab coat, his blue hair messy and sticking to his forehead. He was sweaty and heaving. Vivian caught him dismantling his robot. "Why is SB down? Is she broke?"vivain asked voice raspy with concern. "Oh she's fine." Vlad slammed its mechanical arm onto the cold concrete floor making an all to loud sound startling Vivian.
"Her mouth needs some fixing, I should take the danm thing from her."Vlad gridded his teeth chest rising and falling violently with rage, Vivian could smell the familiar rage of alcohol on his breath.
Vivian felt disgusted. Seeing her father like this felt vomit inducing. She always thought he was good, he was the one she looked up to, the one that changed her diaper, kissed her sratches told her she was loved.
She hates that thought know. That she could ever look up to him.
"How much have you had to drink..." Vivian knew it was a useless question Vlad always lost count when it got to this point.
"Ehh it wasnt that much Viv. not enough if you ask me..."he kicked SBs lifeless metallic body out of the way, he traveled to Vivian on the other side of the room, she backed up.
Vladimirs eyes looked exhausted, but they softened as if this was a nice happy moment. "Look at you, Viv, come here, it feels like I haven't seen you in days. Give your old man a hug?"he asked, a wholesome look in his eyes that Vivian wanted to trust. She wanted to trust him so badly it hurt. For it just to be like it used to be. He wrapped his arms around Vivian holding her."Sweetheart, don't act like that, don't retreat from me, your all I have Viv, don't go please don't go Viv"Vlad said against Vivian hair"you'll leave just like everyone and I'll be here alone. Rotting before my body truly dies."he starts crying patheticly against Vivian. All she could do was stand there. With the shell of her father.
"Oh dad..."
