For NEXZ, Tomiyasu Yu is a hyung they deeply cherish, and, at the same time, someone they're slightly scared of. No, not because Yu is scary. In fact, he's the opposite. Yu is warm, friendly, and has the kind of humor that's easily entertained. It doesn't take much to make him laugh.
However, in contrast to his personality, Yu possesses a physical strength that's no joke, anyone would lose if they went up against him. That's why whenever there's a mission in a show or anything that requires physical strength, the younger ones tend to step aside and let Yu take the lead rather than deal with the muscles he diligently builds every week.
Except for one person: So Geon.
Apparently, Geon doesn't really care about the difference in their physical strength. At his core, Geon is mischievous and doesn't pick his target, anyone can fall victim to his teasing, including Yu. Geon enjoys pushing buttons a little too much, and Yu just happens to press back every single time.
Geon will usually find himself trapped in Yu's arms just seconds after teasing him. Yu never lets him escape easily, he always gives Geon a "punishment" for his mischief, whether it’s pinching him, tickling him, or kissing him.
Yes. Kissing him.
And that's exactly why Geon likes teasing Yu. He enjoys the punishment.
It's not that Geon is unaware of the difference in their strength. If anything, he's fully aware of it. And because he knows, he willingly accepts whatever punishment Yu gives him, because no matter what form it takes, Geon knows there's affection tucked quietly underneath it.
“Happy?” Yu opens the door to their room, finding Geon already showered and lounging on the bed with his phone. Geon had come back earlier, while Yu still had vocal lessons.
“Happy about what?” Geon asks with an innocent expression, pretending not to remember how relentlessly he had teased Yu during their group practice.
Yu doesn't answer. He just heads to the bathroom, while Geon shrugs and goes back to his phone.
Yu returns several minutes later, changed and smelling faintly of soap, water still dripping from his hair. He finds Geon in the same position, phone in hand, but now facing the wall, his back turned.
Yu doesn't waste the opportunity. He climbs onto the bed, even though it's clearly too narrow for two grown men, and immediately wraps his arms tightly around Geon from behind. He tickles his stomach and peppers his cheek and nape with kisses.
“Happy? Happy teasing me nonstop earlier?”
Geon bursts into loud giggles, trying to break free even though his efforts are clearly useless. Yu holds him firmly, not letting him slip away even an inch.
“I am, but pleeaaase, stop, let me go, Yuuu!” Geon doesn't truly want to escape, but Yu's tickling leaves him gasping for air from laughing too hard.
“Isn't this what you wanted? Weren't you the one who wanted to be punished?” Yu stops the tickling, but the kisses keep coming, until Geon turns around and one lands right on his lips.
Yu smiles in triumph. This was exactly his intention.
He then cups Geon's face and pulls him into another kiss. Not a rushed kiss meant as punishment, but the sweetest one—one that always sends Geon into beautiful dreams. (Geon is dramatic and always whines for Yu to kiss him before sleeping, claiming he'll have nightmares if Yu doesn't.)
Geon smiles too, feeling like he's won as well. He loops his arms around Yu's neck, letting himself melt into the meeting of their lips. His stomach flutters with happiness, but this is exactly what Geon loves.
Geon loves the way Yu explores his lips patiently. He loves how Yu channels his feelings through gentle touches, sometimes at his nape, sometimes along his jaw. He loves it when Yu shows his dominance, because even when Geon tries to take control of their rhythm, Yu always ends up winning, and the kiss only breaks when Geon is the first to need air.
And what Geon loves most is that even after the kiss ends, Yu always finishes it with a few sweet pecks scattered all over Geon's face.
“Happy.” Geon finally answers Yu's earlier question. He grins widely, then plants a small kiss on Yu's sharp jaw.
“Happy being punished?” Yu chuckles, lightly pinching Geon's cheek—which Geon has recently complained is getting puffier, like a Dubai Chewy Cookie (Yu still loves it all the same).
“Of course,” Geon replies. “As long as the punishment comes with love.”
Yu laughs at Geon's honest response. Yes, that's simply how they express affection. Geon will always find ways to tease Yu just to stay close to him, and Yu will happily punish him, knowing Geon enjoys it. At the core of it all, they simply enjoy each other's presence.
Yu shifts lower, resting his head against Geon's chest.
“Let's sleep,” Yu murmurs.
Geon wraps his arms around Yu, making Yu seem smaller in his embrace. He gently strokes Yu's short hair and presses a few kisses to the top of his head, lulling him to sleep.
One more thing Geon loves about Yu: when he wants to, Yu will let himself be the little spoon. Geon doesn't mind, he's happy about it, because Yu is always true to himself. There are many moments where Yu uses his larger build to dominate Geon, but when it comes to sleeping, they can switch roles, and Geon gladly becomes the big spoon for Yu.
If all day long Yu holds him close and makes him feel comforted, then at night, let Geon be the one who makes Yu feel safe in his sleep.
And that's how their love will always remain balanced.
