Nancy returns to Hawkins for her father's funeral as a very different Nancy Wheeler than her friends and family are familiar with. But she's good at pretending to be who they remember her as. Pretends that she let go of her violent tendencies and hadn't channeled them through targeting rapists. Pretends she doesn't know how to perfectly hide a body. Pretends she's satisfied with her independent but isolated life.
When she runs into a troubled Robin with a problem on her hands, Nancy struggles to pretend that she isn't still hung up on a moment that changed their friendship ten years ago. But the problem ends up being Vickie's husband, who Robin may have, accidentally, murdered.
