   Summary

Being the daughter of a gangster was never easy. Being his pawn was worse. Evelyn Kimber was always reminded of the one thing she could never be in the eyes of her father—his son. After all, his empire would never belong to a woman. Most of the time, Evelyn longed for one thing. Freedom.

Thomas Shelby has ambitions of his own, even if France had torn something out of his chest. Now, there was no patience for anyone standing between him and something he wanted. A murder and a stolen shipment drew the Peaky Blinders into a scheme far larger than either Thomas or Evelyn first realized, forcing them to play the same game.

They were supposed to be enemies. Instead, Thomas saw in Evelyn someone every bit as determined to win as he was. And Evelyn found in Thomas something far more dangerous—a man who really saw her.
The problem is, being seen and being understood are not the same thing.
